In DA Awakenings in the City of Amaranthine, there is a locked door for the Guard Quarters. "Key Required".  I have played this multiple times and never came accross the key to open this door. The only thing I have not done is pick pocket everyone in this city for it.  Is there a quest I am missing or is it as simple as pick pocketing? or is there NO key at all?

It is a quest thing - you need to side with the smugglers (instead of the city guard) to get in.
