Is DA2 in your top 5 favorite rpgs?

DA:O
TES: Oblivion
TES: Morrowind
KOTOR
DA2 is not on my list because I think of it as more of an action game with rpg elements than an actual rpg game (in my own opinion).

Dragon Age 2
Mass Effect 2
Tie between Final Fantasy 6 and Oblivion (for the guild quest and the Shivering Isles)
Sh*t.. forgot about Xenogears. Loved that.
I still dont think ME2 is quite an RPG.. more of a cinematic story driven shooter with some RPG elements.
It's a very underrated game these days. I was actually talking with people at my GameStop durring the DA2 midnight release and three of us agreed that was our favorite RPG.
It's close enough for me.
It is an underrated game. I can't believe I forgot about xenogears! I put over 80 hours in that sucker lol. I think I still have the CD set somewhere and the prima guide that I got for free when I bought it. *goes looking*

This......dark and gritty is just over done. I really just dislike the entire story telling, and the depressing end. I couldn't put it better myself, if I want depression I'll watch the news. I don't need a cool gritty depressing game, I want to be the hero, and I don't want to pay 6.99 for the DLC to give me the ending.
I must say that I feel quite the opposite. I'm very tired of being the hero in every Bioware game. That was one of the great aspects of Planescape Torment: this is not some 'save the world' type struggle, but is a personal story of your efforts to discover your lost identity. While saving the world has its place, it's good to see Bioware expand beyond that for a change, even if there were some hiccups along the way.

4. Morrowind
3. DAO
2. BG
1. BG2
Da2 would come in somewhere in the 20's, maybe. Which is still very good considering how many RPG's I've played.

Funny how little you see Ultima, Might and Magic, Dark Sun, Betrayal At Krondor or pretty much any older rpg in these lists...
I considered putting UO down in the number 5 slot, the only other Ultima I really enjoyed was 7, but I played those games when I was like 10, so I'm not sure my memory of them is acurate in a relevant way. Unlike SHining Force 2, which I still to this day fire up on my emulator at work every once in awhile.

Legacy of Kain is a terrific series. But you forgot to add Defiance.

Five games I might pick would be (of the last decade or so):
Planescape
BG2
DA:O
Morrowind
KOTOR
I'm not a big fan of JRPGs.

Funny that, since it's a game where you're role playing a character.

3 Knights of the Old Republic 2
4 Baldur's Gate 2
