On a serious note I think Bioware should pretty much apologize to the community.  I'm not saying this in a demeaning way but the proof is in the reviews.

This is a very low score and I think Bioware has learned their lesson.  Stop dumbing down your games.  The proof is in the metacritic review.  83? That is pretty bad especially for a Biowrae game.

I think we do deserve an apologize.

I'm still glad I paid $60.00 for the game because I know Bioware will recover from the catastrophy.

83 is bad? Who knew - I'm sure that everyone who ever received a B in school owes their parents an apology then. BioWare owes you nothing by the way.

This makes about as much sense as the side quests in DA2.

Hence the metacritic score of 83. well said.

Actually it was in relation to your thread not making sense.

Isnt it 80 on 360?

Ironically enough, the highest is on PC.

An 83 is bad if you pay  the industry to ensure that you get rated on a scale of 80/100 to 100/100.

You obviously don't understand the current rating system trend for AAA games. Anything below a 88 is generally considered sub par, 80 is medeocre at best, and 70s tend to be considered complete failures. Whenever you have a scale greater than the 5 point scale, this tends to happen. Where as 50 should be the middle point, it isn't.

As others said for Bioware standards it is. Not to mention if you look at other AAA-Titles that tend to hardly get scores below 80 83 is actually pretty bad. Also most reviewers start their scores at 70 so 83 actually is bad. (70 in most review-scales means the game is crap)

In my opinion

>91 great game
>85 good game
>80 medicore
<80 crap

This is just waht the industry made themselfes, since they forced reviewers to never give higher scores so review sites just started to use a smaller scale.

Yeah, we have to be utter retards for trying to make informed decisions when buying a product ...
Not to mention the question is not if i care about review scores but what i make out of them and how i finally make my decision, its not like i take one review score and come to the conclusion "wow that game is awesome/bad".

so then the 86 for origins was basically a mediocre game as well or as one of you would have us believe a 51... if 70/100 holds true....

listen to how ridiculous you sound

Saints Row 2 has 81 and it's one of the best games ever made.

Also DA2's Metascore is probably vastly inflated.

Bioware doesn't owe any apology, that' a poor choice of word. They certainly didn't do better than DAO, so they might learn a lesson out of it.

Making things up wont make your argument more valid ... ;)
No one here said 86 was medicore. BTW DAOs score is 91:

Also user scores should be viewed different since Users tend to vote more with emotions since they payed for the game, also they tend to use the full scale not just 70-100 or actually 70-96.

PC it was, ps3 and 360 87-86...........the implications are there that 86 is mediocre...I'm not making things up for the fun of it......re-read the thread.

you've pulled your own opinons on the ratings meaning 91 great, 86-pretty good 80-85-ok, 80 or less- terrible.....

Where does this inherent logic come into play?

Second maybe play the game....

What did you expect, first of all RPGs arent that popular on consoles, second of all the game was poorly ported to consoles your argument fails hard again ...

No it isn't. 83 is well above average, but nothing exceptional. There are some highly successful AAA games that get 75-85 metacritic.

A measely six point difference.

as for PC scores, DAO has a 91 and DA2 has an 83, so 8 points. That's not much.

Pretty much confirms how I feel about the game, still good ,just not quite as good as its predecessor.

And using Metacritic implies that ME2 is by far the best Bioware game (96 on xbox, 94 on PC), and I know that many DA2 haters are ME2 haters, so yay for pick-and-choose when forms of evidence are convenient to you.

Give me a break, so in a rating system where there are about 27 points that define if a game is great or crap 6-8 points are not that much okay ...

I think Bioware should apologize for allowing such morons onto the forum to spew their crap in the first place.
