Ok so I seriously cannot decide who I want in Dragon Age 2 to be my romance option. I got about half of the way through act 2  (did about 50% of side quests encluding the one with your mother and the whie lillies) , and all companion quests accept for Isabella's) and romanced Anders, but started to sort of fall for Fenris, too (Sebastian isn't too shabby either...). Then I looked around online and found out what Anders ends up doing in act 3, and it broke my heart.  I have an old save from the very start of act 2, so theoretically I can still romance anyone at that point because we haven't "started a romance" yet. What should I do? Anders is so lovable (well, parts of him are), but Fenris is freakin hot! However, being that my character is a mage( female, uses the funny comments a lot), I have a feeling I'm going to have to leave him behind a lot. But Anders does something really bad! And Fenris is so...easy on the eyes! AHH! I'm torn! Help?!?!

As many of the people after me will say, Fenris. Fenris is really the only sensible option.

So it would be worth it to go back and change all that? In your opinion?

Depends. Are you on the Friendship or Rivalry path? Both romances are pretty different.

If I go back to my old save from the start of act 2, we'll be nutral, although I had been working on a friendship. Even though I was a mage, we got along fine if we weren't at the gallows.

Depends.

I would stick with Anders

Rivalry mance. Oh god Anders Rivalry mance is so...so.... it's a whirlwind. You'll laugh, squee and cry. Just a complete and utter rollercoaster.

Fenris was close but not quite the same.

That said what exactly do you like about the Anders romance?

I'd try out the Fenris one to see which one suits your taste best.

Might be hard to Friendmance Fenris as a mage. Kinda have to go against your own kind. But damn, is it worth it. Rivalmance is rough and sexy. Friendmance is adorable and sweet. It depends on your taste. Either way, its a heart tug. I srsly cannot romance anyone but Fenris now.

Go for both.

For the first playthrough, I highly recommend Anders. Just because you end up getting even more emotionally involved in the story.

I was just so excited to see that he made it into DA2. He was my favorite charecter in Awakenings, and I had always wished The Warden could romance him because he was so funny! Then in DA 2 he got a make-over and a sexy new voice and, let's face it, the whole "posession" thing was a turn on! He was a pit of a complainer, but so cute!

That was before I met Fenris, though. I waited to get him until near the end of act 1. He is just so bad a** and those eyes and tatoos...ohh he's just a pretty man.  He's cute in his own, ashamed way.

Ahhh! He's so pretty!!!!!! I...CANNOT...RESIST! I think I'll just go back and redo act 2. It's gonna be lame to have to do all those fed-ex quests over again, but at least I know what to expect from them now. There. I feel resolved now.

Just  wondering, does anybody reccomend Sabastian? I was suprised you could romance him at all.

Another victory for the Fenris!

I'd skip Sebastion. I hate the choir boys. He doesn't want to screw. He event wants a chaste marriage in the end. Unfun bastard...

The Sebastian "romance" is so not worth it.  It's really not a romance.  It's a "oh, we could have been great, in anther ilfe".  Really, there is nothing there whatsoever.  Fenris on the other hand...now that's just the best romance.  :wizard:

I just say if you want a somehwat lasting romance it is definietly not Anders... Maybe if you are the: meh I let him do anything with me type. Sadly not in an erotic meaning...

Since DA2 is not that long a game, I'd stick with Anders and do Fenris on another playthrough. Both are well written, though Anders' may not have affected me the way the authors intended (very negative). Both the friend and rival romances with Fenris are amazing -- friend is so sweet, but rival is so angry and passionate.

Edit: And Anders can have a happy or a tragic ending -- I had his happy ending, and it really is quite sweet.

I RECOMEND doing anders first. It makes the whole thing more "OMG DIRE". Besides, he's a sweetie. You reall do feel for him and his plight, even if he is a BIT extreme.

Then, Fenris, for life. "I am yours" *fans self* My current running play through I'm Friendmancing Fenris as pro-sane/anti-blood (sorry merril:( ) mage, It was interesting getting his friendship up, for sure :x

"What has magic touched that it hasn't ruined", Best line durring mage/fen friendmance, because he looks at you and you can just SEE him saying in his mind "I shouldn't have said that, I'm sorry, it hasn't ruined you." before he leaves XD

And, Anders was irritated, "How can you be so 'for the cause', and still be with him! *anders boggle* You should want someone like me!" I simply explained that there's more to Fen then meets the eye. ;p

DEAR BIOWARE. THANK YOU FOR LESS AKWARD SEX SCEENS. BUT I AM AN ADULT, CAN I PLEASE HAVE FENRIS IN UNDER-SHORTS? I NEED FENRIS ABS.

DEAR MOD-COMUNITY. GET WORKING ON THIS PLZ CHOP CHOP. <3

I absolutely adored Anders. His romance is a deeply moving experience. In some cases tragic. But for better or worse always a dramatic and moving part of the story. It made a very lasting impression in my case. I say romance Anders first, then do a second playthrough and romance Fenris so you can have your cake and eat it too.

Fenris (and Isabela) is my preferred route, but the rivalmance for Anders sounds like it has it's charm. I just..the ending, what he does..puts me off.

Well, while Anders is arguably a terrorist, Fenris is a hypocrite and hate-monger. So pick your poison.

Well, they both certainly have elements of drama, but I agree with those who said stick with Anders for your first playthrough and for the second, choose Fenris. I did so, and I've enjoyed both in very different ways.

Personal tastes aside, Anders has a bigger impact on the storyline and potentially garners more emotional response from the player if Hawke is romancing him due to certain story elements. Some hate it, some love it.

They are both boring whiners, but Anders is completely unbearable, but you onl get to know this at the end of the story.
