Another victory for the Fenris!

I'd skip Sebastion. I hate the choir boys. He doesn't want to screw. He event wants a chaste marriage in the end. Unfun bastard...

So true...lol

Wait, wait, wait.  Chaste as in never?  As in not ever?  As in not after getting married?  How does he expect to get an heir?

OMG I was just typing this and I thought "Oh, he believes the story that Wynne was about talking to Alistair, that fade spirits find your babies in the fade and drop them off to their parents!  HA HA HA!  Andraste's flaming sword, Alistair needs to tell him where babies come from!

He's all "I love you Hawke, but I pledged myself to the Maker. I KNOW! YOU SHOULD TOO!" He wants you to take Chantry vows so you can be platonic evangelist pals.

Anders v. Fenris: Broody templar-hating mage v. broody mage-hating elf......could I have Cullen, please? He seems more sane than either (and that ain't sayin' much). Don't seem to be any "I'm a fairly normal guy with only a fair share of neuroses for you to put up with" men in this little group. The only one I see isn't on offer as an LI. Too bad, I would really have liked to romance the Dwarf this time around.  [Edited for spoilers]

@ejoslin: I would do 'quote' but iPhone is stupid and won't let me type anything in the box when I do :(

Anyways, I've read elsewhere that it's kinda like that with Isabella an Fenris, something about if you romance Isabella, it'll be back if you try and mess around with Fenris. Can anyone confirm this?

@savvie
(still on my phone and can't use 'quote', that's how dedicated I am to this thread I guess)
Man I'm the same way. It was just Alistair for me and no one else. I did sleep with Zevran but it felt wrong, and at the first moment of them wanting me to choose, Alistair was just it for me.

When I romanced Anders, it was so nice even though in the back of my head was 'next play through, Fenris!'. It was great, and then he went to the extreme...and that left a bad taste in my mouth. I don't care how tender he was, how much he was resisting, don't wanna hurt Hawke, blah blah...he messed up big time. I can't look at him the same. Fenris might e a walking hypocrite like Anders, at least he hasn't openly attack the mages or anything like Anders did, you know?

My next play through (going through all the classes), im still going to romance Fenris.

@casedawgz
And that's why I'm not interested in him. He looks good, great looking armor, nice voice an accent, but thy religious talk nonstop was just a turnoff. He can break his vows on getting revenge on Flint Company peeps and he can't break his vows on the sexytime? Give me a break

Sebastian isn't too extreme in his beliefs, but yeah, it is a bit hypocritical of him to break his vows for revenge but not for love.  Moral of the story, Seb?  PUT OUT.  Then maybe you'll have more fangirls

I like romances that are integrated into the story.  Alistair, Anders, etc.  Of course, those also end up being the romances with the most tragedy potential.  What can I say?  I like cute, scruffy blonde dudes with the potential for epic heartbreak in the endgame.

I went the Anders route my first play through, it was deliciously tragic, Hawke spared him (Merciful/kind Blood mage, it would've been pretty OOC for her to kill him) and they ran off to be fugitives.

Second time I rivalmanced Fenris, I couldn't really get into the whole "all mages suck, whine, whine" (I'm such a hypocrite, as Anders does it too) thing, but I'll be going for the friendmance on my current play through. We'll see how that goes.

Forget Seb, they made him a total tease, and I don't play that crap. Merril is too mousy for me and Isa too much of a dirty ho, but I love that about her.

I hated Anders, so I romanced Fenris on my first playthrough. Uhm. Anders is so whiny. Sure, Fenris is broody, but he's got an awfully painful past to blame it on; Anders has no such excuse.

Well, aside from being a mage who was constantly hunted, an abomination, a on-the-run gray warden... He's had a horrible time of it.

Not minimizing what Fenris went through (I perfer Fenris).  But Anders is not in control of himself, which makes for a difficult time. Plus he JUST lost his lover.  To tranquility.  Gah, poor guy :(

He had a great thing going on in the Wardens. He basically had a mage pass for life and he blew it.

Being a warden never did seem like that much of a bargain to me.  And the templars still came after him after he was a warden, though it was probably only that once.

If you want someone to grab your heart, rip it out, kick it, step on it and then tells you he loves you but no more than his cause. Go for Anders.

If you want someone to grab your heart, rip it out, throw it on the ground, leaves it there for three years, comes back and ask you for forgiveness and love. Go for Fenris.

I like both. Can't decide which one hurts more.

It depends, Exactly when do you want your heart ripped out? Sooner or Later?

It's going to happen either way.
At least Fenris tries to patch it back up. But if you are addicted to heartbreak and tragedy, like me, pick Anders.

Well I'm not a fan of tragic romances which is why I was a bit put out by Anders in this game. It is still a good romance but I'm romancing Fenris right now.

I'm inclined to believe that one will last longer.

Well, it's not about extremity of his beliefs, it's just...kinda a big turn off when he goes on and on about it. It's like, 'oh I'm sad not getting attention from mom and dad and then send me here to the Chantry (which sounded a bit resentful) and I can't break my vows but I will if it's revenge related".

so really, yes. PUT OUT.

well so far so good. no one's arguing, just discussing the pros and cons of both dudes. :D

I’m trying to convince myself to go with Anders this play-through… but I didn’t know about the ending in the first and he really, really ticked me off. On top of that, I found his personality so off-putting :/ My Hawke was best buddies with him and he kept hissing and spitting all the way through the game, even telling her to dump Fenris because he was little more than an animal. Wait, what? Angry and brooding, yes. Animal? Jealous prat!

Looking at romancing Anders now, I just remember that total turn-around of back-stabbery, and I’m not sure I want to put my Hawke through it. I did find a lovely mod that made him look less like a horse-face though so that’s nice. I’m almost inclined to play a mage-hater in this second play-through and do a rivalry romance and then run him through with my sword after he’s betrayed me. Yessss… that might work, buttercup.

For the record, I loved the Fenris friend-romance. The writing of it anyway, I’m a bit bummed at how little interaction you have with your buddies in this game compared to Origins. I played a mage and he
stood by her side at the final battle, unlike some back-stabbing, treacherous mages we all know and love.

I think the reason why I love one of their personalities and not the other, is that Fenris is grumbling, brooding and growling, whereas Anders is whining, whimpering and wailing, at least for me.

Well written though or I wouldn’t have been so pissed off at the end.

'

and that's why Anders never again for me. in my head there's an equation:

Anders = tender loving back stabbing vigilante terriorist that's blaming all his problems on the spirit

I did't know who I wanted either. Anders is very passionate . And Fenris is very cold /hot half the time but still hott. So I did them both and picked Anders.

Anders crushed my heart, which was extra sad for me since I had no intention of romancing him my first time through, but somehow wound up letting my LadyHawke fall for him anyhow. And I honestly wouldn't have wanted it any other way.
