Torn between Romancing Anders vs Fenris

then I did fem-rogue fenris friendmance second go round.
I haven't tried a rivalmance at all, but I still much prefer Fenris. I think I'm attracted to broody, troubled men... he makes me swoon. Ander's romance was good as well, but he's sooo whiny... Whiny is a big turn-off. I would still suggest doing both though... Now I have to go back and get rival romances.

But my evil character is Origins romanced Zevran, and my evil character in DA2 romanced Fenris. And I have to say, in the end, Zevran and Fenris's romances are sweeter than Alistair and Anders'.
Granted, so far I've only done friendship romances.

So, why did I choose Fenris? Anders makes some comments in the game that are just terrible! Calling Sandal (you know, the Enchantment dwarf) dumb. When you come upon Sandal in the Deep Roads, Anders mutters "Talk about DUMB luck". What a #%*#!
Then if you turn Fenris in to the slavers, Anders loves it and practically mocks him. Then you actually get a friendship boost from Anders. Yes, you heard right, he approves of selling your comrade in arms (whom he has been fighting alongside for 3 years) into slavery. Yup. So I say team Fenris!
Oh, and team Alistair and Zevron too, LOL

Too bad we can't talk to our companions as much as we did in Origens! Everyone I know misses that feature. I hope they add it back in Dragon Age 3!

I got my character from Origins to go for Alistar so she could be queen.
But I want to know what know which one has the best benefits!
I love Fenris for his moodiness, he seems to make up later when he apologizes. But Anders talks about children and love after you spare his life.
Anders is too mushy, but Fenris leaves for 3 years and leaves me lonely! Blarghh!!
But its like you cant get close to your romancing characters like you could in Origins. Idk, its kinda like its a trade off for having a main character you can detail more.
But now my Hawke is lonely because youtube has taken all the surprize away from my relationship. lol.
Just let me marry Varric and get it over with.
He's the only one that doesn't seem cynical.
Why do all the guy romances have to have issues?

Right now, I'm trying to romance Isabela and just so I'm not tempted, I don't take Fenris along for much of the game.

Best course of action is to murder knife one and make a quick buck off the other.

It makes me think that theres more to Anders in the game because even Varric comments on your relationship with him.
Even though Fenris is much better overall.
I like a man that can take my jokes.
Bioware made it too difficult to chose :/ The Behlen and Harrowmont decision PALES in comparison.

Being a Fengirl, I would should say go for Fenris, but I'm actually going to advice stay with Anders. Not because he's a better option though. (I'm in the middle of romancing him in one of my playthroughs and I just cringe every time he opens his mouth. But, I'm not a DA2!Anders fan, so take that for what it's worth. lol) I say stick to Anders as your first, get it out of the way, and romance Fen in your second. Because once you do Fenris... there is no going back. He is... he is... very swoon-worthy. He has reduce me to puddles of goo and a pitiful screaming giddy Justin Bieber fan on many occasions and I'm still not tired of him.

I agree. Get Anders out of the way in the first playthrough, then try Fenris.
In my last 2 playthroughs, I romanced Isabela, then Merrill, but my favorite BY FAR is Fenris. I just wish they would have allowed a bit more time with him in the love scene. It seemed a bit abrupt.
Speaking of Merrill, it was pretty obvious which LI the game developers liked the best (her). She got an entirely new outfit to wear, while Fenris and Isabela just got a red scarf and one other thing. I thought Anders got a whole new coat, but as it turns out, he wears that in Act 3 anyway after his personal quest (I believe). Merrill's friendmance has been my least favorite so far. I only tried it out at my husband's behest.
I wish Sebastian wasn't such a stick in the mud. I might try that next, but I keep thinking I might go back to Fenris in the end, anyway.

Another victory for the Fenris!
I'd skip Sebastion. I hate the choir boys. He doesn't want to screw. He event wants a chaste marriage in the end. Unfun bastard...

Idk. Something I've realized is that meeting Anders is neccessary since you have to get those maps. But you meet Fenris from a job you took on. Kinda like how you had to meet Alistar in origins but Zevren wasn't necessary.
It makes me think that theres more to Anders in the game because even Varric comments on your relationship with him.
First, in my opinion, the relationship between Zevran and the Warden was much more satisfactory than the relationship between Alistair and the Warden. Being optional companions doesn't take away from the worth of Zevran's romance, and the same is true for Fenris' romance!
Second, Varric is supposed to have a conversation about all of the LIs: it's just that, due to bugs, only the one about Anders is actually firing. Ah, bugs.
As for the topic, I say, if you ever want to romance Anders, do it on your first playthrough. I didn't, and now I never will, because dammit, Anders! If you don't care . . . then Fenris.

They're both whiners and hypocrites. You have to decide if you want babysit the whining, brooding, former slave or the depressing, never shuts up about mages/templars freedom fighter.

Comments like this make me laugh my ass off. You hate a character for whining and brooding over being a slave or an oppressed mage while you do the same over the romantic options of a video game.

On my first playthrough, I was tempted to romance Anders first but chose Fenris, because he was an elf and I'm a big elf and Zevran fan.
I don't think Anders will ever get with Hawke on my playthroughs... if she could dump him and get with Fenris he'd maybe stand a chance... but not a very big chance : D.

Odd, I play it the exact opposite way. I cannot complete a romance with Fenris. The best any of my PCs have ever been able to do is romance him unitil he dumps them and then move on to Anders.wildannie wrote...

It's a matter of preference. Odds are good that if you don't like one character or the other, a romance with them will not change your opinion.

oh my god, this made me laugh. Well, smile.
I'm torn too. I figure I'll get to know Fenris then decide. But I'll probably have multiple games so I can romance everyone.
Except Isabelle.
But I love Merrill!
