Was this part of the patch or a bug, because it looks awful, my sister looked completely normal at the start in the fake battle that Garric made up, but now... wtf is going on 0_o The mother I can handle, but the sister was awesome before, hoping this is a bug.

Did you make a custom Hawke adjusting eyes, nose, etc? If so, the game adjusts your family to look more like you.

Did a pretty awful job of it... I look at least 10 years younger than my brother who's meant to be younger xD
EDIT: Well looks like I'll never make a custom character, thanks Bioware. No way am I playing with a retarded looking family...

It apparently modify the face morph depending on which preset you choose, and modify the hairstyle base on some currently undetermined factor (no consistent result).

Sis' ****** get smaller too, that is the most serious issue I think.

Wow...that is awesome...I've done 2 playthroughs, but both with the standard Hawke so I never saw this... Anyways, what if you start the game with the default Hawke face and then use the face changer in the Black Emporium? It seems like it would be very strange for it to change their faces then.

Yeah that's what I did, hasn't affected it so far. (I altered jaw/cheeks) The nose and neck/ears I didn't bother with though. So I haven't tested it thouroughly.

This actually happens no matter what. In Varric's telling of the story, Bethany has a much more, umm, bountiful look to her. Once you get to "what really happened" you see that she isn't quite as Varric first described
As for the family changing, it's intended and based off the skin color of your custom Hawke trying to simulate having your family of the same ethnicity as Hawke. That said it does not take age in to account - if you make an old man Hawke for instance you'll probably look older than 'Mother'

Hah! I kept telling people that this is what happens but no one would believe me! They said I was fixating on certain assets too much XD

This is reason #1 I never make an old looking Hawke. Reason 2 is because this story supposed to be 10 years and if he/she is already pushing 40-50, then makes for odd thinking mom still alive and looking pretty young (on some presets this happens). Plus Uncle makes a comment about you being around 25 so that's massive hard living if you look that old in your mid-twenties.
So never make a old looking Hawke. (although one preset I just did on the 360 makes him look a bit old but once I get access to the Emporium, I will be heading there to change probably to default. I just wanted family to look like that preset mostly Bethany although mom looked a bit younger with it)
