I'm half way through Act 2 and I just realized I missed a companion.  The Bait and Switch quest is listed as a Secondary quest, and I decided to skip it.  Now I realize I missed a companion.  Companion recruitment quests should all have been marked as main quests.  The quest log in DA2 bites.

Yeah, I missed him too on my first playthrough. I talked to the Bait and Switch guy, went "Eh, this quest is kind of sketchy (my reasoning was smuggling lyrium=bad)," and skipped it. Then I'm wandering around Act II going, "So, when's the white-haired elf going to show up?" And of course he never did. Got him this time, though.

In hindsight, the guy saying, "OK, but I'll still be here if you change your mind" and leaving the quest open should have been a clue.

This was my exact train of thought when I saw that quest.

"Smuggling illegal goods? Oh that won't end well. Screw that I'm out of here."

I didn't even realize I was missing a companion until 20 hours in when I saw people talking about Fenris on the forum.

I wish I did miss out on recruiting him, Fenris sucks lol
