Think DA3 will have a new hero to customize. A continuation of Hawke's adventure, or the return of the Warden?

Either new hero or more Hawke. I don't think we'll ever see the warden again.

I really hope they listen to the criticism and don't use a hawke/shepard-like hero. It added a lot of value to DAO just having the origins to play through

so yeah, I hope it's a new character

Much depends on the choice between a voiced protagonist and a silent one. Imagine the outcry that would occur over a return of the warden... with a voice that doesn't fit the original imagination of the player that 'created' him/her.

Urchin, seeking revenge on those who manhandled him.

New character...with multiple origins, would be nice.
Or an elf.

Also...if BW gives the Warden a voice, that would be pretty cool my opinion. Of course, the first couple of weeks people would cry, whine and curse Bioware, and then they'll get over it.

Either a completely new protagonist or Hawke. I don't really want to see any more Warden, his/her story ended just fine.

Depends on how much/big the DLC they come out with is I would guess.

I don't want the Warden or Hawke...but I think Hawke's story should be complete through an expansion and a number of DLCs like the Warden's.

Hawke maybe, The Warden would be tough, if they're going to use the voice acting for the protagonist route again having to pay six different voice actors for it. I don't see it happening, unless they're just gonna hire two voice actors (male and female), and recycle all the said dialogue for The Warden whether he be Human, Elf, or Dwarf, but accents always gave that distinctive feel between the races. So I'm thinking probably a whole new character, hoping we don't get restricted to just picking human, I want my dwarf back imo.

What I would want is a new hero but have Hawke as a companion. You can import your Hawke but he/she can be your companion and your LI. Here's how this could work, you could get three personality type Hawkes and choices made in last game can be revealled by Hawke companion. I would then proceed to make the hottest female hawke for my PC in DA3....

The Gray Hawke.
Somehow for god-forbidden reason, there's blood magic involved but it ends up fusing Ferelden's warden and Hawke together in some sort of badass awesome fusion of Chuck Norris Bruce Willis Commander Shepard.. thing.
In short: Amazing.

I like to see the Warden reincarnate (so to speak) in DA3 together with Hawke. It would be strange to find out what Flemeth and Morrigan is up to without the Warden there... Hawke is fine but something is... missing.

Voice acting problem:
Do something like Warden's mind is trapped/reincarnated/forced into into a new body! Died somehow, be it against the Archdemon or after stepping through the mirror. Flemeth "preserve" part of the Warden much like she preserved herself that lead to this ritual.

Loses much of his memories and use in game dialog to reconstruct the events of DAO. So... maybe the downside is, your Warden is no longer exactly how you made him/her - he/she is trapped in another body much like Shale the Dwarf Golem.

So now, all Wardens - regardless of pass race and gender can be unified into one new character that does not remember his/her pass well. Cannot remember their first name but vaguely remembers his/her family name. Through conversations, some import bugs can be fixed because we get to choose the events.

Example:
What is the last thing you remember?

Dialog Wheel:
- I remember fighting an ugly dragon.. (origins)
- I remember leaving in search of something... (awakening)
- I remember a mirror... a distant place... (witch hunt)

Essentially, you are still the Warden (but your character does not know that for sure) but at the same time a new character. Just like how Shale is still Shale but also a Golem at the same time.

You might have been an elf, a dwarf but now you are stuck in a human shell so Bioware cannot say they do not have enough funds to make so many set of voices

[edit] Ah - then my Warden dont have to die eventually from the taint too

If Hawke's story isn't completed through DLCs or expansions, I'd imagine they'd do something featuring both Hawke and the Warden in DA3. The fact that Leliana says that it's no coincidence that both Hawke and the Warden are missing by the end of DA3 leads me to believe that they're paths are destined (planned by the devs) to be crossed.

For DA3, I wouldn't be at all surprised if Merrill's obsession with the Eluvian leads to its eventual reconstruction. The Warden and Morrigan are either brought back or they come back of their free will after learning of the chaos that's happening in the real world. Warden and Hawke then team up to bring back order.

DAO was about the start of a new era for the world, DA2 was about causing chaos and putting that world to its limits, DA3 will be about its reconstruction and unification.

Agree with most of what Chucknor commented upon, the ending for my DA2 first play through had the same dialogue by Leliana, there has to be some form of convergence planned maybe it won’t happen in the next game but eventually.

There is also the situation with Sandal going to Orlais which many have commented on and seem to think is a heavy contender for the location of the next game.

The Merrill-Eluvian plot I can see being covered in a DLC or even an Awakening styled expansion.

You have to sit back and evaluate all the major players left on the Dragon Age chessboard, the Orlesian Empire, Tevinter Imperium, Par Vollen’s Kossith (Qunari), the Maker, Old Gods, & of course the Grey Warden Weisshaupt fortress of the Anderfels in their constant battle with the Darkspawn.

According to DA –wiki there are eight major nations within Thedas:-

Tevinter Imperium
Ferelden
Orlais
Nevarra
Rivain
Anderfels
Antiva
Elvhenan

With the Dales being a further elven nation.

http://dragonage.wik...tegory:Nations' class='bbc_url' title='External link' rel='nofollow external'> http://dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Nations

Any bar Ferelden which has already been covered in the initial games could be a potential setting, it’s impossible to call so soon after the DA2 release.

I hope it's Hawke. He's still alive, after all. The Warden's closure came in Awakening. He ain't coming back, hopefully.

It's not going to be the warden, to many variables from DA:O. I hope they'll continue with Hawke, I've grown quite attached to mine xD.

Well according to my ending Hawke and Merril are off doing stuff. Advantage of a new protagonist is not have to worry about levels and skills, you can just start over.
While there is still room on the tree , my character has all the skills it needs anything else that is not passive would be pointless. Same goes for the others, towards the end I just found myself putting points into anything to use them up.

A Chantry seeker seems the most likely protagonist in DA3.

I do not think we will see origins as we did in... well Origins, but I think it would be quite possible to have a set race (human would be my guess and my preference) and a set of origins. That way they could have just two voice actors and several Origins.
So for example the default John/Jane Doe could be a noble(wo)man from Denerim, villager from Honleath, knight from Redcliffe, Circle/Apostate mage... you get the idea.

I'm hoping that they go the Fallout route and have a new character and setting for each new instalment.

Hawke. They aren't going to show how he becomes one of the most important people in Thedas only to end his story.

I'd like to see a voiced Warden too. And at least two different VA actors for the Warden, with a toggle so the people obsessed about having a mute can choose to do that.

Without a doubt Hawke, clearly anyone has finished DA2 will know that it left it wide open for the return of Hawke.
