I'm thinking Hawke, and hoping that as well. DAII seems like the beginning of a larger story arc to me, and everything seems to point to Hawke as at least one of the main characters.

New character, or Hawke. Depends if Bioware goes ahead and makes an expansion or DLC covering Hawke and his companions adventures (after act 3). If not, then an entirely new protagonist. I don't think bringing the Warden back would be easy to pull off.

I hope its The Warden (or a new custom hero if he didn't survive)
Hawke should be a recruitable NPC...

ps: i know this has 0 % chance of happening

New character; I loathe the idea of keeping the main character in a Dragon Age setting throughout sequels. Yeah, at the end of the previous game you're an ultra badass, and then at the beginning of the next you suck for no real apparent reason.

Something Lady Nightingale and the Seeker say to each other at the very end of the game suggests that either Hawke or the Warden (or both!) could be a possibility. I'd put my money on either Hawke or a new protagonist though.

Either Orlais or Tevinter for the setting; I'd love to see a game set in Tevinter myself.

If you finished Dragon Age 2 and listened carefully to what they say at the end, you might guess that maybe you ll actually have BOTH the warden and the champion in Dragon Age 3.

Which to be honest would be simply awesome.

Me, personally, I hope it's a qunari/tal vashoth or at the very least, having qunari/tal vashoth as a racial option if you get to choose your race.

Depends on where they want to take the franchise and the narrative, i have a feeling or a slight hope that Skyrim will elevate the genre (not to the extent of Oblivion but still) so Bioware will have to up their game on the next one, hopefully they will spend more time on it, and we will see someone new as they have said it is the world and not a single character that is the defining factor.

Sandal, the first dwarven mage. And all partymembers are mabari warhounds and the only conversation options are: hello, enchantment! And euhm...

I'll say it this way, the only way I want to see Hawke again is headless after I kill him, or being eaten slowly by a giant sarlack like worm. Slowly digested by it while he screams in unending agony.  I don't mind someone new, and that whispery bit at the end made me feel that Hawke and warden are gone, maybe in a cave somewhere going no, we are just fine here, you go F yourselves that buisness is not ours to deal with.

Godbaby, clearly. Godbaby is ten years old now, after all. BioWare skips eight years or so between DA2 and DA3 and Godbaby is good to go. Or, start DA3 when Godbaby is 15 and then do time jumps until Godbaby is 18.

So what I gather from this is you think the Godbaby will be the protagonist of DA3.

Godbaby.

Morrigans godbaby will either be the protagonist or the antagonist.
He (or she, BW might ignore the fact that it is referenced as he twice) can be half elf, half dwarf or human and have an accent similar to Morrigan.

I'm hoping for DA3 we'll get a new Hero, hopefully an Dwarf of an Elf, so we have to discover other parts of this world, I mean. If we had a choice in the first one, were a human in the second, wouldn't being another race in the third make sense? That's just me maybe.

I'd like for another semi-over lapping story like Origins and DA2, means we can still be tied to our last Hero, though lots of DLC for DA2 would be so fantastic first. <3

I like Hawke, and her story isn't even close to done. In this game you just get abused over and over again, I want Hawke to have a chance to make some choices that lead somewhere good.

Oblivion didn't elevate anything, and I doubt Skyrim will either. We haven't seen a game changing RPG in a while.

i would hope you can chose either the warden or hawke because there noth famous and would have influence so there wouldnt be a need for two seperate story lines

I'd rather Hawke i want my decisions in past games to have more influence. the reason i choose hawke instead of the warden is because the warden could have died, disappeared with morrigan etc.

I want more Hawke. The ending made it so obvious that there was more to his/her story! We just heard what happened to Hawke in the past, from Varric. What about Hawke in the present?

Personally I hope the Mass Effect team gets to take over the Dragon Age franchise after they have finished with ME3.

Then I hope the playable character of DA3 is commander Shepard who has flown through a time vortex and crashed his ship into an Orlesian palace.

Lets face it, couldn't be any worse than DA2.

I love hawke, he is much more of a badass than the warden IMHO, but I think they cut him off before he could really shine, I would really hate it if they don't do hawke again, but this time don't do the narrative thing it was cool, but I feel you used it as kind of a cop out, so we didn't get as much of the game as we could and frankly should have got to begin with, and I love the game. I just really feel like hawke got cheated in epicness compared to the warden who actually got an ending and we somewhat knew where they were and what they were doing, hawke just disappears at the end and to spend 50+ hours on a guy you have no idea what happens to is kind of painful.

[edit] The Warden is just far... cooler.

The hero of Ferelden that kills the spirit of a GOD, stopping the Blight before it expands or... Hawke... hero of ... a stupid town filled with insipid douchetards.
