I guess they might have been somewhat more easy for me since I made use of the Gravity Ring bug, or whatever that spell is called... actually I don't even know if it was that ability specifically, but you could end up having the enemy just stand in place and do nothing, and then you'd get crazy animation weirdness until it dissipated.

I don't really recall them using a "pull" type ability though, and no they don't seem to be as resistant to magic anymore... I think they have this weird ranged attack ability, but I couldn't really tell.

... and loot was 21 silvers and an injury potion.

Not to mention it was dead by the time I'd burned through my 4 cooldowns on my 2H warrior.

There are more glaring issues with the game, but the cheapening of once-fearsome foes is a bit of a bother. Kind of like a microcosm of the whole game from the POV of Origins fans.

It gets worse when you effectively two-shot what's supposed to be most powerful class of demons in the Fade side-trip (and he comes with health bar of either "normal" or "lieutenant" enemy class)

That's on hard difficulty btw, i can't imagine how easy it gets on normal and below.

I had to "cheat" on my mage-hawke just so I wouldn't get 1-shotted in that fight you're talking about. Scythe wiped my party in the first second of the fight!

I had Varric with me. Archer's Lance stops things cold :>

(in case of elf mages without common sense it's dead-cold. He literally one shot her with it in the process _and_ nailed the demon behind)

Yes, the ones I saw so far were easier. But I´m not complaining. Playing on nightmare, I´m finding plenty of challenging fights to compensate.

I don't mind Revenant's being easier to kill. They're still tough on Hard and Nightmare.

I'm happy Demons in general are harder to kill though. I wondered how Templars couldn't take on Rage Demons back in DA:O when the Warden was basically taking a stroll though the Magi Tower destroying everything.

I don't experience that at all on Hard. If anything the demons seem quite easier to kill because you tend to slaughter them by dozens. Even enemies like desire demons die in matter of seconds.

Revenants are too easy, even on hard in DA2. (however, as someone pointed out an overlooked Arcane Horror can wipe your party in seconds!)
then again, in DA:O, on nightmare, there were few only a few fights out there that gave me any trouble (my second playthrough, better tactics and set up etc). Golems of A. were hard though! I didn't manage to kill Harvester on nightmare, only on hard, and even that was hassle.

The fight I posted about was on Hard.

Spam 4 abilities, Revenant Dead.

Yes, other stuff is harder (mainly because of the number of enemies), I'm just sad that the respect Origins built up for Revenants as mean mother-fsckers was squandered in DA2.

Yeah, that's how I feel. Like how that big hill that scared me to ride down as a kid is now just a joke that makes me think what's the big deal?

Rage Demons can kick Revenants asses now. /sad

And what is that move they're doing? It looks like 'mass pull', but it does nothing.

It's been nerfed, now they just do ass pull.

Ass pull? That guy can't even pull Merrill's scrawny butt.

To note: Aren't they half the size they used to be?

Think the range on the revenant pull was nerfed and you're safe standing at moderate range. Similar to dragon wing flap thing.

Rage demons get unsurprisingly totally owned by cold damage.

DA2 harder, lol. There is a dungeon late in DA2 where you fight a rage demon, a golem, a rev, a boss spider and a horde of undead at the same time and can easily kill them all. When this happened I knew this game was easier than DA:O. All you do is use all your party skills, select everyone and run like hell till heals and stuns come back up and start over. I really missed the way I had to think in DA:O.

I find the ability to spam heals in Origins rather cheap. But anyway, I found Origins much easier.

If they were as tough as they were in Origins, you'd be crying it was unfair. DA2 is already hard enough. Actually, if any enemies had Overwhelm, you'd die. Horribly. I had to bump it down to casual so the High Dragon's super munch wouldn't rape me.

Are you kidding? what lvl and who were you using to fight it?
