Theory - How Anders Did It (SPOILERS)

I have a theory how Anders used a handful of ingredients to explode the Chantry. And I have to wonder if this had been in the process of being set up by previous mages for years beforehand.
If you read all of the "Enigma of Kirkwall" notes, you learn that Kirkwall is built on blood and runes. And that power was never, for whatever reason, used, apparently. I don't know how Anders learned about it or figured it out--maybe Justice knew from ancient times past. But what he did against the Chantry was blood magic, using that pent-up power beneath Kirkwall. At least, that's my theory. And if it's correct, that may not even have been all of the available power.

There are whole chunks of the stuff down in the Thaig. Who is to say he didnt discover some in a tunnel under the Chantry?Brass_Buckles wrote...
But blood magic is also red and there was only one shard as far as we know, apart from what Meredith used for her evil sword of +20 evil.

Anders, despite his contant fanaticism, is consistent in his hatred of blood magic. I doubt he'd knowingly utilize blood magic, even for that.
He's also a fairly devout follower of the Chantry if you listen to his banter. And yet, he blew up the Chantry.
Edited to add: And I am not sure it's entirely intentional that he used blood magic. Maybe he knew the power was there. Maybe not. Maybe the effect was greater than he'd intended. Maybe we'll know next game. Maybe not.

Fairly amusing that one of the ingredients used to start a war was crystalized urine and feces, but...

Didn't he make Gunpowder? I mean the ingrediants are quite similar if I recall. The Dragon age equivilant of gun powder maybe? I thought he may have stolen plans from the Qunari while they were in Kirkwall
Gunpowder typically doesn't result in giant glowning red pillars of magical death. Rather massive fiery explosions of realistic death, which do the same thing but don't look nearly as mystical.

So, he could get his hands on books and ingredients while having the safety of dozens of escape tunnels that the Templar would have trouble shutting down before moving in on him.
Anders learned the golden rule about setting up a shop, it all comes down to location.

I assume that he somehow learned how to create explosive because well, that exactly what his ingredient sounds like. Also, Ander is a devoted follower of Andrastate and the Maker, not of the Chantry. Those two are very, very different things. I'm just not sure how studying Old Tevinter tome could give him the information he need to create gun powder, but it's conceivable he lied about that part of his plan as well. I wouldn't be surprised if the Warden learned of Qunari's formula to create gun powder somehow.
Anders WAS acquainted to a certain dwarf with a penchant for explosives, so that may factor into it.

True, but the explosive in DA:A was lyrium based if I'm not mistaken, while I doubt Ander used much, if any Lyrium at all with his red pillar of death.
