great job ruining Sandal BioWare...no really

As if all the cameo's weren't over-the-top enough (just too many considering the time period/methods of travel/locations/etc)..you certainly took and ruined at least one character with them.
Sandal. In DA:O it was rather humorous to end up in that room just before the Archdemon and see all those darkspawn lying about his feet while he's covered in blood and just spouts his coveted "enchantment!" line when you ask "wtf?"
But in DA2, because you apparantly can't do anything without running it into the ground...he now does this at least twice?
You know, bio, part of what makes an action or character unique is the infrequent times such a thing occurs. So what do you do? oh look I'm about to go fight the last boss...oh look there's sandal again...how..novel.
seriously, grats on taking the humor and "magic" out of the entire thing. Now it's just cheap.

Ruining? It's not like they broke his character. We know he can do.. something... to dispose of things attacking him. He just got attacked more in this game.

He's a character. He's a couple of years older now. Of course he've learnt a few new words.

Sandal won't enchant your trousers anyway.

I would be scared if I were you, you don't want to get on his bad side.
Personally I just hope his "One day the magic..." line isn't just there for giggles and laughs.

The only thing I disliked was his voice, it changed dramatically in my opinion. Or maybe it was just me :S

And yes, I agree that Sandal's performance is too much, not because he appears in DA 2 at all, but because his running gag is inflated too much.

yes, but you can only beat the same horse so much... or however it goes, er...
To try and make this relate to another example: if I see 10x times the "the cake is a lie" jokes in Portal I will get an aneurysm.
but this is coming from someone who didn't think much of sandal in origins either.

He also talks about the scary tower in the lake. It's explained he means the Gallows.. but what if he doesn't? It could be a reference to something much more. Then again, he does somehow mysteriously get to the Gallows BEFORE us even though we're shown having to take a boat to get there. Strange, creepy little dwarf. But I felt they actually used him well and I really don't think he was just a throw away to confuse us. I doubt they had it planned from the -beginning-. I'm pretty sure the devs went "Hahah! What if Sandal was in the room when they get there since they're going to probably need stuff from a merchant. And there can be all these dead darkspawn around him and he just goes, "Enchantment!"
But I do feel they solidly have a plan for him now. Sometimes that's the way characters work out. You create them, put them in, and they start explaining to you that you're not grasping the whole picture. So then you sit back and have a conversation with a character you -thought- you created and who is now informing you that you didn't know anything.

Also you shouldn't treat Sandal being there in the endgame to sell and buy stuff as part of the story. It is simply a means to handle your loot in the last part where you can't just go back to the market. It is a sort of running gag/inside joke, I wouldn't take that serious.

Speaking as the father of two children on the Autism Spectrum. Sandal is Autistic. He was obviously abandoned by this biological parents as a child before being rescued by father. There is nothing really mysterious about him accept he seems to be able to use magic.
Partially right, but your kids aren't soothsayers, and kill armies of warriors now do they? In serriousness if they do, how much to borrow them for one day to crush my enemies?
Hell why Sandal's dad doesn't do that short of not knowing it is beyond me.
