Well this is something i have decided to share.

I have just finished DA:O, a game has never gripped me so much. I have a weird
feeling that no game i have ever played in the past has made me feel, its a low
sinking feeling wondering what’s happened to my character and morrigan, i have
really immersed my self in this game and created a story along the way - from
how he rose to be a grey warden to the end battle.

So much so that i scrambled for the DLC of witch hunt, i had to see the end !

I have DA:2 on order and cant wait for it to arrive, i heave read alot of
negative reviews but if the story is as powerful as DA:O im sure im going to be
playing that for days to come !

:)

I decided to skip awakening as it doesn't really provide any background to the old characters so i read.

Unless i am mistaken and leads to DA2 ?

Don't lead to DA2 but it's a continueation of DAO. Take your Warden through more adventure's. Of course there are new recruits but there is still one of the oldies. Oghren. He has the best Joining ever. Also you meet a mage called Anders. He is awesome with his kitty, SerPounceAlot :)
Personally I would recomend playing throug. It's well worth it :D

Solkazo, I totally understand your feelings... I had also strong feelings with my first playtrough, heavy crush on Morrigan and immersion with everything my character got through.

There has not been a game that got me so much involved with feelings. I am afraid you might be disappointed with DA2, I know I am, but you should still check it out for yourself - there's a slight chance you'll like it, but definitely not as much as Origins.

Just wanted to let you know, so you don't get your hopes up and expect to be at least 3/4 of Origins experience. For me it's not even half good as DAO.

I loved my first playthrough so much that I did it again right after, taking everything I'd learned to get the best possible ending for my Warden. I was glad too when I went into Awakening with that ending too. I thought Awakening was pretty good and was pleased with the outcome on it too. I don't know that I'd play it again with an Orlesian as there is little I'd have done differently.

I just ordered my copy of DA2 too. I'm hoping that BW has patched the import flag problems. I would be disappointed if my endings didn't reflect properly.

It gets easier :D
This is why i love and at the same time "hate" BW games, they make me feel like a depressed empty shell after i finish them. :(

If you're depressed over Origins coming to an end, I'd definitely suggest Awakening, as that will give you another 20-40 hours with your warden, and you can take him from level 25-35, and learn new talents/skills and specializations. After that, you can import your warden to Golems of Amgarrak and Witch Hunt, and by the end, you'll have one badass warden who's slain their fair share of darkspawn.

By the time I've played through Origins, Awakening, GoA, and Witch Hunt, I've probably spent around 150 hours in total with my warden and am more than ready to start over with a new warden of a different origin/class.

After a few days, i dont feel as disheartened as i did at the end of witch hunt. Still waiting for DA2 to arrive.
I have thought about doing another play through with a different character but i cant bring my self to do it for some strange reason (nothing to do with time restraints either), one thing i have noticed though since looking up characters on Wiki and such i have missed alot of content.

So current plan is to take a break untill i remove this "upset" feeling completly and start from scrach and make sure i do everything this time around DA:O -> Awakening -> DLC -> DA2 :)

Make sure you play the dlc and the expansion - some good stuff there. Don't expect much from DA2. In comparison it's terrible.

A good story does this to you. Though I'd recommend playing through all the dlc for the warden in order.

Yeah, I completely understand this. Fighting the dragon, I was all, yay, finally, when it died, but when the credits rolled around it kind of sank in that the game was really over in a certain respect (I have other characters and awakening), and I was really sad at the same time as the triumphant, yes, I did it!

Did you only play it once? If so, you've only scratched the surface. Playing other races or genders, making different dialogue choices, and lead to a game that feels very different, even if you don't want to make the big deciosions differently than you did--but you might, and that really changes the game! You've put it away too early!

Well, from you guys have been saying, I'm not gonna be spending money on DA2. Origins blue me away. It's one of the best games I've ever played in my entire life (and I'm not even near the end yet!). My main passion is for JRPGs but this game is the one Western RPG that has had me as hooked as the likes of Final Fantasy VII, VIII, and IX and Lost Odyssey. Plus it's such a long game! Quite challenging if you're not a seasoned pro too. Especially if you're more used to JRPGs.

As for being sad about it's end though, this game has TONS of replay value so just start again with a diff race/class/origin, build your characters differently, use a different party, dialog choices etc and you're all set!

Origins is the only game that left me feeling the same way. The way the story draws you in and how the characters become real people, friends/enemy's, is incredible.

Bioware performed a minor miracle with the making of Dragon Age Origins, it really is a shame they threw all the best bits away with the making of DA2

In my experience, gaming companies (in the RPG realm at least) make one epic masterpiece, and while some of their other efforts may be fantastic, they always fail to live up to the magic of that one special game. The only exception I've personally found to that rule has been the Final Fantasy series. They had a small number of epics (IV, VI, VII, VIII and IX). But Bethesda had it with Morrowind, Mistwalker studios had Lost Odyssey, and Bioware have DA:O.

It feels weird, too.

Origins may very well be the first game I eschewed the "best" ending for because it didn't seem to fit that specific PC's character. Not to say that I won't be doing that for future PCs, but let's just say it didn't feel as emotional when that guy got the...ahem, "better" end of the deal, so to speak.

Ironic that the DA2 demo was what got me to buy DA1.

DA:O was almost a lifestyle for me. Ye, I know its pathetic. I didn't like DA2 at all, but only because I dislike DA2 it doesn't mean you would. Borrow it from a friend or rent it.

I went back to DA:O after playing DA2 just to remember how epic it was. And now I'm writing a fan fiction with my warden and Leliana.

I take information from the game, the epilogue and get facts from Dragon Age: Wiki. It's awesome! Posted Image

Dont expect to much of DA2, the story is not that epic.

I was told that the story is like stitched together DLC, and as you say, not a epic like origins.

I felt much as the OP did. There weren't many DLCs I liked - Shale's is good - and I didn't particularly care for DAA or DA2. DAO had a fantastic immersion factor and high replayability.
