Now this is unconfirmed by anyone else, so people might want to try this out and report their results.

As some of you may know, the slow Hawk bug is a product of Isabela's friendship bonus glitching and causing your character's "Animation_Speed_Modifier" to be updated incorrectly, resulting in slower and slower animation speeds for your character.

In my particular case, I found this issue simply did not occur until I completed "A Bitter Pill" - more specifically, everything is fine until you head for the Holding Caves.  After dealing with Hadriana, Fenris promptly throws a tantrum and leaves the party.  At this point, the issue shows up as soon as you leave the Holding Caves and start adding and removing Isabela from your party.

So the workaround is simple - don't include either Isabela or Sebastian in your party when you head for the Holding Caves.  In more general terms it's probably a good idea not to include any party member whose Passive Ability is active due to a high friendship or rivalry with them.

I've successfully reproduced the bug by completing the Holding Caves with Isabela in my party.  I've also successfully avoided the bug by not including her in my party.  Time will tell if the bug stays away, but for the moment, this appears to be a potential workaround for those people who haven't yet completed "A Bitter Pill".

Now I must point out - if you head to the Hawk Estate, this removes all party members and Isabela's Passive Ability will still show up if she was in your party but from what I can tell, this is completely benign.  It does the same thing prior to completing "A Bitter Pill" and has no effect - it manages to sort itself out and the Slow Hawk bug is never triggered.

People may want to try this out for themselves - and Bioware may want to take a look at what on earth Fenris is doing when he leaves the party.  There's a chance it may be glitching something else if it's not glitching Isabela.

This may not be the issue, but it sure seems this way to me.  Those of you past this point are obviously SOL, but those who aren't might benefit from trying this workaround.  Either way, post in here so we can get some feedback on whether it works.

I'm wondering... is there any way to fiddle with active effects via console commands? The game is becoming unplayable for me.

This didn't become noticeable to me until well after the Holding Caves. All I can think of is, maybe it has something to do with the fact that I've resurrected Isabela and Sebastian a few times recently? I dunno. There is a (temporary) solution involving a savegame editor in this thread though.

I specifically started noticing this right after the "All That Remains" quest. And I believe I had just bumped Sebastian up to the level where he began providing the friendship bonus, because just prior to All That Remains, I got Sebastian's Questioning Beliefs dialog.

Maybe it has something to do with having both Sebastian and Isabela at high friendship, since I didn't have any problems prior to this.
