Occasional Game Freeze On Looting

Actually it is nearly a freeze - the game still moves about one frame every thirty to fourty seconds or so, and this does not seem to go away after waiting for several minutes.  This is not the slow attack animations thing, this is the whole game and system slowing to an effective crashed state.

Playing installed on the 360, this has happened twice in act two, and once in act three.  Each time I was closing/taking all on a loot menu after combat when the freeze occurred.  Murphy's law demanded that this would always follow particularly long battles, but that is probably just my bad luck and not a symptom.

Additional detail: after 15 pages I found a similar topic (social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/301/index/6483213) and I will point out that after the first day of play I haven't bothered plugging my console into the network, so it was not a matter of connectiong to EA servers as posters in that thread mentioned as a possible cause.

In late act 1 I also had a few incidents of "Loading..." being displayed on screen while the game seemed to freeze up/stall but hitting the guide button corrected those (I reccently had a similar problem with Way of the Samurai 3, where hitting the guide button seemed to kick the game back to rights).

In the case of the looting freezes, however, the guide button does not correct anything, and like everythign else happens at about 2 frames per minute.

Anybody know how to avoid this?  Its not a great thing to have happen.

Yes, dashboard every hour and refresh. The longer you run the game the higher the chance you'll get these issues.

With Fallout New Vegas I had to dashboard every thirty minutes so I could avoid two minute long loading screens.

The loot sub-freezing is a pain. The second time it happened to me I stuck it out for ten minutes or so because I had just finished a long battle. Of course the machine won.
