Anyways I've played the game on a non live account to get a feel for it and I stated like I did in DA:O which proved problematic on some classes, and starting on a live account I want to get things in order so to speak and need some advice. Or atleast on 3 classes, a magebuild shouldn't have changed from the other games. If it has (that is stacking Will, Mag, and moving stg up to 12 for armor) then say so.
In DA:2 I'm only going for Archer, 2 Hander, and S&S. I may do a two hander but I suspect its not any different from the archer stat points wise?
Anyways
S&S Two hander Archer/Dual
Stg 42 mod Max 20 mod
Dex Max 18 two to one* Max
Mag n/a n/a n/a
Will 20-30 25 20
cunning-16 base 16 every two points in dex add one
HP-30 mod left over points N/A
So given the issues I had statting on my "test runs" what am I doing wrong?
Various builds questions.

Rogues don't work like they used to in DAO. Only thing you're getting out of strength now is fortitude. If you're an archer, you should probably concentrate on not getting hit anyway. Some might argue that you would need a bit of fortitude for higher difficulties, but I think you'd just get butchered in close quarters anyway, and a little bit of fortitude isn't going to help all that much.
It also pays to invest more heavily in cunning for both archers and dual wield. 50/50 with dex works fine, but with some party buffs you can invest even more in cun. The goal is to have 100% chance to hit normal enemies. I like a bit more than that for bosses, but make sure you hit 100% at least.
Regarding willpower and constitution: Might want to spend a point now and then depending on difficulty. They're not needed on normal, but on the harder difficulties you might want a bit of constitution to avoid getting instagibbed. Willpower is a matter of taste I think. I didn't feel like I needed to boost it, but a few points won't hurt.

It seems you're building with DAO rules.
Forget about Cunning on warriors, there's not a persuade skill here. Same for DEX, it doesn't increase your defense, if that's what you're after. You'll need about 42 STR and 32 CON (approximate) to equip the best gear. 20-25 WILL to use talents.
After that, maybe STR to reach 100% attack, and some more CON if you have points to spare. CUN increases critical damage, I guess it could have some use after the basic stats are set.

Ah so basically STR, Con, and Will for my warriors then. That'll help out more I'll wager, I didn't know if the cunning matterd not, but thanks for the reply.
