I'd like to think that Bioware is smart enough to know that we would not be satisfied with a rushed, mediocre DLC as the last bridge until ME3. I would like to give the Mass Effect team enough credit to believe that they will give us something that is at the very minimum on par with LotSB. Maybe this DLC is important enough that they think that more than trying to make a profit on it, they want the best possible intro into the grand finale of an epic trilogy, and give it at a more affordable price.

No story DLC is going to be much longer then 2 hours, come on be realistic people. The idea of a 4-5 hour DLC, while great, just isn't very feasible for a game like Mass Effect.

Frankly I'm fine with the price as it'll probably be as long as Overlord so about 2 hours long (give or take depending how you play) is about right. Seems fine to me, I've certainly got no issue paying less money for more. It also means more people will buy it too, which is probably a good thing as this seems like it's going to be fairly "big" in terms of story.

Who knows it may even be close to 3 hours long. Really when you take into account that not only do these DLC add new stuff to game usually, but more content they essentially are all together an expansion in and of themselves.

Look, even if it's only one and a half hours long, it'll be a great DLC if the quality is as high as the other ME2 DLCs that have been released.

Three or four hours would be nice, though.

If anything...we should be glad DLC is still even coming out while ME3 is almost here....so...we really shouldn't be complaining...AND...it's DLC, meaning it's optional...we shouldn't be acting spoiled....you know what I mean?

You are acting as if bioware is a parent giving their child a present. Its really funny how people quickly forget that bioware is a business trying to sell you something. If you do not like the product they are trying to sell you its your right as a customer to complain. People told Bioware what kind of product they wanted if they dont deliver then you have every right to complain since you are paying them money for it, so please stop being Ignorant.

Back up a second...I just want you to see eye to eye with me on this:

1) Bioware does NOT have to make DLC...they don't "owe" us anything in this regard
so...we should be at the very least appreciative that a "business" such as this decides to continue pumping out material for a game that was released over a year ago.

2) It didn't even come out yet, and YOU are complaining to me about others having the right to complain about something that hasn't even been released yet.

3) I'm not being ignorant...opposite actually...and to go a tiny bit further...after reading your post, a teensy bit of ignorance seeps from it. Now, I'm not shifting blame or anything...but re-read your post...then think about how Bioware is working their butts off to please us...how DLC is not a requirement...and how it's not even out yet...and how you believe people should be upset about it already...

Oh...and did I mentioned they reduced the price of this particular one already? No? Oh, well...there you goImage IPB

I am not concerned.

If its anything like Overlord, which had a similar price, I will be very pleased. Overlord was a great DLC and left me stunned and in an emotional whirlwind. I was happy with the length and content of it. I beat it in about the same amount of time as it took me to beat LotSB.

I think people are jumping the gun with the negative comments and are just needlessly worrying themselves over something they know nothing about yet. You don't have to get all crazy hyped up about it, but at least reserve the negativity as well until Arrival is released and you get to play it or read reviews about it.

i think they're doing a Dead Rising Case Zero, that DLC was self-contained and only $5 and was a great revenue source/marketing for Dead Rising 2, it was really a ton of quality for $5

i think while Lair was an expansion onto Mass Effect 2's story, this is more of a lead-in to ME3 so it being quality but priced less makes sense

Don't get me wrong i love Mass Effect and all things related.  But, this DLC i thought it would be huge grand and epic.  Now i just feel like it is going to be not as small and not so epic as it could be; I mean we have waited 5 months.  I'm not complaining, I am going to buy it i just feel a little disappointed that my last ME 2 DLC could be so tiny... Anyone else with me on this?

that's funnty what you said. you don't even play it yet. you have no idea how story will go. now you are already disappoint because of the price? unbelievable. price is not always eqaul to quality. you already complain as your main title even though you don't mean it. get a life. it's not depends on you. it's Bioware. they know the best.

What a intelligent and well thought out response (sarcasm)

So what your saying is lets blindly give away money because bioware's name is on it, i dont know about you, but I research my purchases than buy it.

However, based on past experience with ME2 DLC its probaly a short side mission, defianltly not a expansion for that price

then previous DLC like overlord, or kasumi... they shouldn't 560 bioware point neither. can you argue with them? I don't think so. I have every piece of DLC for ME 2. I don't regret. I am glad to have all. if  you complain like baby, go to mom to tell her I am teasing you. I guess you don't even work. honestly, $7 $10 even $15 are nothing. I spent more than $10 one of meal everyday. I am hard working man. sometimes work around the clock which depends on project. when you get real job, then talk. is it really over price?

Whose fault is it that you decided in advance that it is going to be an expansion? Seems a wee bit petulant to me to be whinging about your assumptions being wrong from the git go.

It was never EVER billed as an expansion, just DLC that would "bridge" the two games. Fans hoped it was expansion sized but BW never pitched it as such. On top of that if it was going to be an expansion we'd have heard about it instead of ME3 around the holidays.

MOST people here would disagree with you and call you names like troll and whiner. The reason being is that they are just so excited to finally have another ME2 DLC, they are ignoring many other things.

Truth is, you have a very valid point. It seems like it is against Bioware's code to release a ME2 DLC that is 3+ hours long. I mean they release a 10+ hour expansion to Dragon Age: Origins but cannot do the same with ME2.

Second, it is also appearing that we will not be reunited with Ashley/Kaiden in this DLC because it seems like just another small 1hr and 30min DLC where you just simply get in and get out.

I assumed that because this is the final DLC for ME2 and the one leading into ME3, that it would be huge and epic like you described, perhaps 4-5 hours long. Instead, this DLC is actually appearing to be smaller and probably less epic than the 800MS Points Lair of the Shadow Broker DLC. Arrival is seeming to be more on par with Overlord than LOTSB in terms of size and scope.

But yeah, you are not the only one disappointed.

I completely agree with you guys.... I'm disappointed that it's only a 560 MS point DLC.... b/c that suggests that it's much smaller and that less time went into it. =/

Exactly people want a expansion like Dragon Age Origins had, so that means bioware did not listen to its fans. Is this a good thing?

I think that is a marketing movement to sell more (and promote ME3) so if they do a excellent dlc for a cheap price, the dlc's sales will increase and hype even more the wait for ME3
or something like that...

Okay holy crap people first i am not complaining i am just voicing my opinion you know those things every body has. Second I loved all the ME 2 DLC i just had a feeling this DLC would be incredibly large and epic (I have yet to see if it is). Thirdly just cause someone voices an opinion that differs from them does not make them a troll

It's just interesting how everyone assumed it's going to be a major expansion, not a DLC. It's one mission. I'm counting for 1-2 hours of gameplay at best... so no, I'm not dissapoint.

Oh, and in before no VS in this pack lol.

Stop whining about how cheap or short this thing might be. It's extra time you get to spend with one of 2010's best games.

You people are really scraping the bottom of the "stuff to complain about" barrel.

But yeah, you are not the only one disappointed.

This is something that's been analyzed over and over. LotSB was 2GB on Xbox, that is the upper limit of the marketplace download size, it is a technical limitation and cannot be ignored. The reason behind that is the engine, the Aurora Engine has a different compression and access method than the Unreal Engine which leaves the Unreal files being larger. Awakening, for scale was about 20h total of content and was short of 2GB on the 360. That is due to the lower quality textures and the Aurora Engine. It's not against their code, it's that they CAN'T. This is an issue that won't be solved by EA or Bioware because it's Microsoft's fault. And before anyone starts blaming the console players like it's their fault that Microsoft set their servers up this way.

As for the VS, that wouldn't happen in DLC, due to the size limit. I constantly hear complaints that Overlord was a 30 min DLC. Maybe on Casual, rushing through and not paying attention to any of the nuances but first time, it's easily an hour and a half. The VS would turn that "30" into 15. And where would that get us.

Mass Effect and Dragon Age are two of my favorite video games, but the way Bioware has been handling dlc lately (such as Overlord) i would not be surprised if Dragon Age 2 just got little mission dlc's instead of a expansion, just like Mass Effect 2 getting no expansion. :(

Don't base the size of the DLC on the price. Mehrunes' Razor for Oblivion only cost about 250 Microsoft Points and had hours upon hours of play time. We're paying close to ten dollars for this DLC, and given that it's probably the last and possibly one of the most important DLC released for ME2, we should expect atleast two hours of play out of it.

Its probably going to influence ME3 alot. Maybe thats why its only 560 mps. BioWare may be keeping low price on it so more people can get it.

This does not sound like its going to be very long just based on the description, hopefully, it will be as good as Lair of the Shadow Broker, or better

"A deep cover agent is missing in Batarian space, after reporting evidence of an imminent Reaper invasion. Shepard must travel to the edge of the galaxy, rescue the agent, and discover the truth behind the Arrival. Uncover new research and 3 new achievements in this spectacular new adventure for Mass Effect 2."

Xbox 360: 560 MS Points
PC: 560 BioWare Points
PS3: $6.99 BioWare Points
