Hello to all,

Can't belive I enjoyed DA2 as much as I did Origins. Both games had their faults, but they also overcame those faults by giving you so much later. Dragon Age 2 is yet another amazing title from BioWare, a developer who happens to never once let me down as other genres have lost my interest as I have gotten older.

But as much as I love Dragon Age 2, it still falls a little short of the excellence that was, Dragon Age : Origins.

The one thing I did notice about DA2, was how there was a lot less bugs than in Origins. To be honest I only came across 4 bugs in DA2, and the last one could have been my own fault. The bugs I spotted were...
1. Scratches mission would not register as being completed, even though it was.
2. Who needs rescuing can not be done at all.
3. When on the new path mission for Merril, Feris speaks but the camera is pointed at a random back drop.
4. When rescuing Nathaniel, he mentions that my Grey Warden allowed the Architect to live, which I did not. Perhaps this is to do with me loading my Witch Hunt save and not the Awakenings save?

So out of a game that gave me almost 40 hours gameplay from my first playthrough, I only came across 4 bugs. Not bad at all, but like any BioWare bug, their never game breaking...just stupidly annoying and I hope there will be a patch.

Things that really impressed me were the new characters. In Origins I only liked Shale, Liliarna, Wynne and Ogrhen. The likes of Allister, Morrigan, Zevren and Sten just pissed me off. In DA2 I liked almost all except for Anders who was excellent in Awakenings, but re-emerged in DA2 as some king of emo-mage. Understandable being that he is now sharing his body with Justice, although it mostly feels like that whiny git Allister is the one doing all the sulking.

The main plot and secondary missions were great, but the retrieve missions sucked, purely because you found them without looking. More big boss fights was very welcome, and brought fond memories of hidden bosses rather than only getting one at the end of the day was a welcome return. Concerned at the lack of puzzles though. Origins seriously lacked here, but I don't think DA2 had even one.

Combat felt so much better and the hacks actually felt like they were connecting. Butthe weapons seemed to be lacking for the 2H warrior, plus ho customization for your team was disappointing when compared to Origins.

But overall I am really happy with this game. Not as much replay value due to a lack of Origin stories, but I can't wait for DLC.

PS - Make anytime face creation a feature in all BioWare games from now on.

Da2 has a lot of casual replayability. I would have liked a lot more dialogue though. It was somewhat...lacking.

bossfights were epic though :)
