Rescue the daughter of a Nobleman named Spincter.

Several bandits attack upon entering the map.  Down a path to the right, the "Bandit Leader" is staning, immovable. 

Obviously, the mission can't be completed.

Merrill's final dialogue (in her house) after the resolution of the Keeper/Demon incident, happened before ever getting that final quest.

yea i noticed that. anyone know how to fix it?

I don't know if it is a fix, but in my most recent playthrough, whether or not you initiated the cutscene with Merrill crying over Marethari, talking to Alistair in the keep activates the quest. The other one, idk anything about, all I know is there is some guy standing at the bottom of a hill where Flint Company mercs used to be

Well, i might as well add to the list:

After three playthroughs (one playing for the overall fun, while the rest trying to get quest completions/alternate decisions, etc), i can not complete this quest. As many other people have said, there is just a guy standing off to right when you first enter the wounded coast, no interaction, cutscene, hints of any kind... I may be delirious, but i thought at one point in Act 2 there was a quest marker with the name of the quest on it, otherwise, i think its uber bugged.

I installed Patch 1.02, I killed the Arishok, and I was about to see to what extent this side quest was fixed, but I never got the letter in the Hawke estate. Do I need to have made a specific choice in the previous two acts or is it because of something else that I cannot initiate the quest? (I have done Meridith's quest of finding the runaway mages, I have initiated Best Served Cold, but I dare not finish it, until I kill the High Dragon)

PS Damn! I used the search tool and I never saw that this thread is in the wrong place ! Sorry, my bad...

I got the same issue as well. I never the received the letter after patch 1.02.

I noticed it too, as a Rogue. So i decided to start again as Mage. Made a fair few changes (fought Arishok in a group), and when i went to do quest again it ran as normal. Hope thats any help.

Still seems to be bugged for me even with the fix on 1.02. Previous was just the guy standing there and doing nothing.After loading patch 1.02 , when u go to the camp Orlana is there, you have a chat, it ends ,you now have a fight with 5 Mobs,, after that she says shes heading home, wanders off and vanishes out the exit.But the quest does not change in the Journal, and I can not find anyone to speak to around kirkwall.. so guessed still bugged some how.. or i am missing someone somewhere.

When I am trying to complete the mission Best left Cold I killed all of the Mages and was to search through peoples pockets but the bodies all disappeared before I could. The large Yellow still appears in the Mission but when I stand over it there is nothing. I have completed all of the other mission lines but not able to finish this one. Has anyone else experienced this?
