You haven't paid much attention during Mass Effect 2, no? Because you actually had a whole conversation with Ashley/Kaiden, because, you know, only one of them is death, depending on your decision, not both of them. So the other one is very well alive and can perfectly be that undercover operative.

Of course if your Shepard had let Ahsley to die, then it's gonna be Kaiden and viceversa.

Savegame import and that fancy stuff. I really don't understand how you can miss that in Mass Effect 2. It was a really big feature.

Nope...they have to design dlc so that it doesn't effect the game in extreme ways.  There are going to be people who don't buy the dlc and import a game from ME2 to ME3.  They have to take that into account when they make it a bridging dlc.  The importance of it will likely be a blurb in the next game..nothing more.

I disagree. I think Arrival will be a plot-bridging story that is a literal continuation of the main story from 2. Sure you can skip it, but you can skip the whole game for that matter.
