 Hi all, I made a thread on this few days ago, But things move so fast here I can't find it any more.

Just a simple request, a mod or even a thorough guide on how to change my hawk from a male to a female (and/or vice versa) 

Any help is greatly appreciated, Would save me lots of time... Currently making a male AND female of each class and completing game for the fun of it :| lol

If you are making one male and one female for each class, it doesn't make sense why you want to change gender....but, in the save game file change this line

16002  SAVEGAME_PLAYERCHAR
     16208  SAVEGAME_PLAYERCHAR_CHAR
         16320  SAVEGAME_APPEARANCE
             16322  SAVEGAME_APPEARANCE_GENDER   <----- THIS VALUE IS 1 FOR MALE, 2 FOR FEMALE


Save it and then your done.

So that I don't have to make one male and one female of each class... thus saving me 3 playthroughs..

Thanks for the info... where exactly do I find this file that I need to edit, and change using notepad or do I need a special editor?

You will need a GFF editor, and you will find your savegame files in your (My) Documents\\BioWare\\Dragon Age 2\\Characters\\(your characters name)\\Saves\\.

I don't have the link handy for a gff editor, but if you look at the "Modding is possible" thread in this forum there are links there for the tools you need.

Sorry to bump something that had been solved.. I downloaded the editor, and followed your instructions sunnie, But every time I save the value as 1, and then re-open it, it goes right back to 2, Can't work out why :\\!!!!

So... just tested it on my other saves... I can edit the value but as soon as I exit the program it's changed back to what it previously was (And yes I am saving it before closing )

For example, If I have a male character with a value of 1, and I change it to 2 (female), then save, close, reopen to make sure - It's right back to value 1 again.

Not sure why it's doing that, and it's the first time Iv'e heard that to be honest. That is the gender flag though. I'll try to look into this soon, but I have a lot of other stuff ahead of this.

Thanks Sunnie, Not sure if you can send PMs on here ... But if you can feel free to shoot me one if/when you get to it ... I had a quick look through but cant seem to find any reason why it won't accept my changes (though im no modder)

Is the game running when you make the changes?

I would imagine that is why it kept reverting... Doesn't matter, just changing the gender flag has no effect anyway. Theres going to be a lot more to this than I have time for awhile.

it´s quite late to tell you now but i found out a way to fix it. It´s easy realy just press "file" on the top left corner of the window then take save as and write over the existing save file. i hope this will help you guys
