Just wanted to check if I am going insane or what... But... Is there anyone else out there who is massively creeped out by sandal in DA2?

Compared to DA:O Where he was sort of cute and fun, with the "enchantment" and mysteriously dead Darkspawn near the end.... I just am creeped out by him now!

From when you "rescue" him in the Deep Roads (That smile, those eyes, and, of course being drenched in blood!), to some of the things he says...

I just get the creeps

Key chill moments...

The "prophecy" <--- moment that freaked me out the most!
Him seeing what i assume is flemeth.... Got this one when i was all alone in the middle of the night... Had a feeling i was being watched for the rest of the night...
Him seeing something, was it nasty or scary in the woodhouse....

Phew, i get the chills just thinking of it as i write this post!

What are your thoughts? Sandal, friend or foe?

His facial expressions do convey a bit of a creeper feeling. And I think he's neither. He's merely Sandal - the creeper-dwarf-mage-prophet thing.

Yes! Thank goodness it isn't just me. I always liked him but in this game he's a little alarming. I wonder if some of those creepy moments will pay off later (DA3.)

He's not creepy in my opinion, I just take his foreshadowing for what it is: foreshadowing. What exactly it is that's being foreshadowed will likely be answered in the next chapter of Hawke's story.

My favortite theory so far is that Sandal is the first Dwarf mage to appear in a looong time.

I recall Merrill suspecting Sandal of staring at her in Hawke's estate. That is a bit creepy.

To be fair, it would be hard for anyone not to  stare at Merrill, particuarly when she puts on that silver chainmail after she moves in.  I suspect Sandal just thinks she's pretty and her new cloths are shiny.

Do any of the other romances mention sandal watching them? first playthrough i went with isabella, second merril, haven't decided for my third yet. Do anders or fenris say anything?

Also, (off topic, but) can you have more than 1 romance move in with you?

Or he thinks she's pretty and her skin would make a good pouch for his runes. Anything that constantly scratches it's butt and stares at you can't have good intentions.

I hope this is the case, and if so I hope we get a chance to play a dwarf in DA3 with the option of taking a specialization of 'dwarven mage/chosen'' being tuaght by Sandal. L0L Or in future DA products if we keep being Champion Hawke in DA3.

I take Sandal for what he is, an enchantment savant, nothing more. I don't think Bioware is going to break Dragon Age's "no dwarven mages" rule, ever. His prophecy was just clever foreshadowing by Bioware, and I'm sure there is more story to be had with the character, but I doubt Sandal is going to deviate very far from his established role in Dragon Age.
