Ok what gives , I picked the nicey nice option 99.9% of the time with maybe a few snarky comments the whole game. Not a single mean reponse.

And yet somehow managed to kill Almost every group in the game that I tried to be nice too.:crying:

The Dalish Elves = all dead
The Kunari = all dead
The Templars = mostly all dead
The Mages = The ones Anders didn't blow up all turned on me and I had to kill them too, and I was a mage!!!
Bethany= dead
Fenris =dead
Isabella= disappeared ,given my history I presumed I killed her  too
The Keeper =dead
The Head Templar lady= dead
The Head mage =dead
I'm sure I killed others too, I am an out of control blood raged maniac you know.

The only one that turned back too me was Carver ,he wants to be like big bro someday.

On my second playthrough now as a rogue and hopefully I won't be near as blood thirsty as my first time through. I just wish I knew how it all happened.

Merrill was a blood mage who dabbled with demons and Marethari warned you several times. Helping Merrill is clearly the evil choice. You didn't have to kille the Elves though, that was another evil choice.

Pay no attention to templars and mages, Bioware doesn't offer you relevant options so they are doomed from the get go.

Isabella was evil so no harm done.

Qunari were ruthless conquerors so no harm done killing them.

Well, most heroes are technically mass murderers... as long as you kill the right people, it's no problem!

Well, if you get your friendship/rivalry high enough, Isabella will come back and you can convince party members to switch sides in the big Templar/Mage fight. You can also pick a different conversation option to keep from having to fight the Dailish after killing the keeper. But the sad fact is, in DA2 most of the events are beyond Hawke's control, all you can really do is survive and save those you can (assuming you're a hero of course).

With the Elves as soon as I emerged from the cave they confronted me, I picked the option that said the Keeper turned into a demon, I only told the truth and they attacked .

You can't prevent most of the deaths, you know. The story unfolds that way no matter what you do.

The elf slaughter starts off with a good old-fashioned mistake. I think unless you blame yourself it all goes very badly.

But all I said when they confronted me was that the Keeper turned into a demon, then they instanly attacked.

I would have done the same had I been one of the elves. Your actions probably doomed their entire clan. It was pretty clear right from the beginning that helping Merrill was the evil choice.

Never help a blood mage in Thedas and expect good things to happen lol.

Isabela is selfish but not evil. Her only sin was not thinking things though but if you rivil her or friend her she does come back and if you rival or friend Fenir, you can guilt trip him back to your side.

If your rivalry is high enough, Aveline will side with the Templars and can die, too.

Knowingly caused the Qunari riots which killed a lot of people.

Then she claims to have changed but is willing to let a brutal slaver go for a pittance. After which she goes all "Now I'm a good person" on you.

I think she's at the very least mentally disturbed if not evil.

I guess I can wrap my head around that, I was kind of hoping for Merril's redemption.

haha yeah the Dalish mass murder was Origins all over again.

I choose to kill em in Origins, because I wanted an army of werewolfs.
I decided to be more nice to them here, but now they wanted to kill me in stead lol.

They should make a Dalish Killer achievement xD

I would have preferred killing them by choice, not because I chose dialogue options A or B instead of C.  That came out of the blue... why should they become enraged because Hawke  told the truth?  I was Merrill's fault.  In my gme, Hawke had been telling her to leave the mirror alone the whole time...

Letting hundreds, if not thousands, of people die to protect your own hide isn't evil? What is evil? It must not be definable.

Being selfish isn't evil. She couldn't have known the Qunari would snap and when she saw that she did she returned. The Qunari didn't snap till you tried to extradite the elves.

Even after being told that the Qunari threat can be ended by returning the relic, Isabela runs off with it to save her own skin, heedless of the consequences to the citizens of Kirkwall. She only returns if you have befriended her (or made her your rival?). That is what I'd call evil. Even when she comes back, it's not to help the city, it's to satisfy her own feelings of guilt over betraying Hawke.
