Does anybody know if you need the person an upgrade is for in your party at the time you receive the upgrade? I got the flex chain from the Raider on the Coast quest without Aveline. I picked it up. Put her in my party and no upgrade. Also no upgrade in my inventory. Anybody else have a similar issue?

I wish I knew where the flex chain is then. I picked it up, rushed back to see if it would be on Aveline and no dice.

Pretty sure that upgrade for Aveline is bugged. Right before the final boss, I have 2 of the 4 upgrades for Aveline, and I know I missed the one in Act 1 and I know I did the Raiders on the Cliff quest with Aveline in my party.
