Ahoy, everyone. Now that most of us have finished the game, we can talk about what we did and didn't like about it. Seeing that there are already countless topics about what we didn't like (as there should be - that's one of the reasons the boards exist), though, I thought I'd make a topic about plot/character specifics that we loved. As well, since I appreciate how interactive the devs are in the community, I'd really enjoy hearing what some of y'all's favorite parts about the game. I know, for instance, that David's said that he enjoyed people's reaction's to Anders' actions.

So I'll start. I was a big fan of Hawke's mother's quest and the emotion it was able to draw. There were a couple of similarly engaging moments in the game, but nothing quite send the shivers of rage up my spine as seeing what that monster had done to my mom. That's a reaction generally reserved for movies, books, and BioWare games.

So what about everyone else? What are your favorite parts of DA2?

I really enjoyed the interactions between characters, especially side conversations that you might miss if you're not paying attention. And if there was a rivalry between party members it was even better. That was aided by some great voice acting. Eve Myles as Merrill was outstanding in my opinion. I also like the little things that might go unnoticed but were quite amusing, like the Talkative Man at the Hanged Man that spouted X-Files quotes, and if you walk into the Hanged Man after you become Champion everyone yells "Hawke" like on the show "Cheers" when Norm walked in. Those kind of things help make the game playing experience that much more rewarding.

There's lots of good stuff, but I just ran into one of my favorite Varric quotes again:
"I think that statue over there is a statement on modern life. Possibly the statement is,

"Well... ****."

I enjoyed romancing Isabela and the Zevran and Leliana cameos a lot. As well as the last quests in all acts as well as some side quests eg, Mine Massacre.

i loved that part where you're talking to the senashal and he's like

"i would have idea where to find someone of such low moral standing"

I loved the characters, the combat...though it should have been harder, and the storyline.
