Attack Animations Stalling Commands

Am i the only one annoyed by the new attack animations?

I can appreciate the work being put into appealing new and existing fans, but to be frank i could care less if Anders, Merril, or Hawke Mage can strike their staff into the ground or show off other acrobatics at the cost of holding up a command for 3 seconds.  When i say i prefer practicality over dazzling animations, i'm referring to dodging an incoming bullet train(ie: 15ft raging Ogre about to plow down everything in it's path) and the npc not moving just so they can show off their attack moves.

The new knockback effect is also irritating.  It's really, really no fun having to waste 5-10 seconds micromanaging one character because they're getting chain knock backed or stunned and cant carry out the command you want them to.

It was much better in DAO when you could simply issue the command and they'd just do it, unless a spell or special attack interrupts it.  In DA2, even a peasant can sneeze on one of your level 20 rogues or mages and throw them 15 feet back or leave them in agony to the point they cant even lift a finger for the next 5 seconds.  I can understand a fireball spell or special melee move knocking down your character or phasing them, but having every little jab and pinch cause the same effects?  It's alot more annoying than it is fun.
