Seriously I think sandal is the maker and flemeth is an old god.

Flemeth pretty much confirms that she is an old god to Fenris if you take Fenris with you to Sundermount.

She goes "Iam a old, old woman. Beyond that you neednt know more."

Whats so unbelieveable? The warden killed an archdemon aka old god.

It was a tainted old god and he had a whole army behind him (lorewise that is) - Killing that old god was a truly epic moment in the story (remember that explosion ?), nothing like Flemmeth simply dropping dead

Or, you know, she's just a really old woman, who can turn into a dragon, and stuff.

Incorrect. Sandal created the Maker.

Its just the way she says it and the fact that she says it to Fenris, a ex Tevinter slave that has knowledge of the Old Gods that makes me believe she is in fact a uncorrupted old god.

DAII shows that the Warden only killed a part of Flemeth. Flemeth basically pulls a Voldermort.

The taint makes him even more  powerful and 2 out of the 5 blights to my knowlege (first and fourth) have been fought one on one single combat warden vs dragon so its not impossible ^_^

Besides the warden had the help of friends

Wait, the taint actually made him stronger?
I've always thought of it as a weakness

I think you're reading into that too much, Fenris is from the MODERN Tevinter Imperium.  His only experience with the Old Gods  would have been old scupltures scattered around Tevinter cities.  All that Flemeth did was reinforce what has already been established, that she is THE Flemeth, who has been around for centuries.  She is quite literally a living legend, but there is nothing to support her being one of the Old God, or anything else other than the witch of the wilds.

Indeed he got the new spiky body armor with the upgraded demon flame breath and hive mind.

Not to mention his heat seeking fire balls and dark fire tornado.

So you're telling me a real old god is weaker than those tainted-dragon-thing-gods that were killed in one on one combat?

Thats quite disappointing

I think the fact that Archdemons are esentially unkilably by anything other than a Grey Warden is what makes them so powerful.  That and they are essetinally the nucleaus of any blight.

Maybe it is.  I think some folks want the old gods to be unstoppable, and that really doesn't fit myths.  Lots of gods were fought one on one, or such by mortals in myths.  :)

I think it fits better than a Cthulhu-oid god, which really isn't present in many myths as such.  Closest thing is the faerie legends, and they, too, were defeated by mortals being canny or special. :)

Yeah to fight a real one must be like fighting a high dragon which are definitely weaker.

The biggest difference how ever is a tainted god can transfer its essence to any darkspawn body and be reborn as soon as it dies due to the hive mind which is interesting seeing as flemeth used that same trick to put herself in that pendant <_<

But Flemmeth isn't tainted (if she was, the warden might've died and that was not flemmeths plan for him), so any old god (assuming that flemmeth is one) should be able to transfer it's mind to any other living being or even to objects. And since the whole warden-thing only works against the taint, a real old god's essence would "survive" the wardens (-> flemmeth), therefor making real old gods stronger than tainted old gods.

Thus the taint actually is a weakness :P

People were talking about how there's like 7 Old Gods.

Five have led Blights, and died.

Tha leaves two, and Sandal was wandering the Deep Roads, domain of the Old Gods. He ran off into the Primeval Thaig, and killed several Darkspawn, who were presumably after him to make a new Archdemon...

Sandal is an Old God. Be afraid.

Be kind of afraid.

I guess.

Maybe just be a little startled.

Yes but flemeth requires ritual and preperation while the tainted gods transfer is auto executed ^_^

Sandal.... Remember in DAO, Bodhan says that he found him in the deep roads? Well, I think he is from the old forgotten Thaig where the rock wraiths and idol came from. The last remaining survivor of a pre-dwarf species, that has exposure to that "other" kind of lyrium that the idol was made out of.

We've already discussed this.

Sandal is The Maker.
