lol Anders getting all butthurt at me for not wanting to be his gay lover is a little ridiculous. :P

New Anders is very clingy.

Very clingy.

I personally don't mind it but I can see why its annoying. He's clingy, jealous, obsessive, screechy, preachy, has ridiculous moodswings and throws himself at you.

God its so nice to have a male character like that instead of the typical female.

He does state out loud that the Fade is ruled by emotion. So it's perfectly understandable for him to act this way imo. Just annoyed me a bit that he basically gave me the finger at the end even though I was at friendship + I supported him.

I actually agree. I really like Anders as a character, but they didn't really give you much option, like when Anders asks "Am I making you uncomfortable?" your only options are

Rudely say yes and ****** him off
Hit on him
Hit on him

There really should have been a more open minded answer about it.

Ah you mean his "incident" yeah that was a bit ofa blindside.

I rivalmance him so it makes sense.

Though you can still use him endgame. Just ask him to stay with you and help. He'll agree.

I didn't want to lose my healin ho.

The option isn't really mean though. Hawke pretty much goes 'uh...stop." Anders takes it as more harsh than it really is. And Anders is overemotional.

Maybe I'm insensitive or something but what Hawke said didn't sound mean.

Here's the choice in question.

Yeah I know my Hawke looks horrible. I threw him together in boredom.

Yeah you're right, that didn't sound too mean, I rejected him on my first playthrough as male Hawke, and decided to flirt with him while playing lady Hawke.

And yes, your Hawke does look weird. :P

Considering Anders' personality in DA2 he has to be bisexual if he ever hopes to have a relationship more meaningful than fawning over Ser Pounce-a-Lot. Seriously, the man is an emotional wreck of an extremist living in a world without prodoundly bad dating sites to help him find women with low enough standards, he can't afford to be picky.

That being said the only problem I  had with bisexual love interests is that they're all like that; for a game that tried to emphasize the uniqueness and independence of companions this dilutes them into mere sex trophies - though trophy is a misnomer because that suggests you actually have to try to get them in the sack. I'd prefer it if they actually made believable hetero/bi/homosexual chracters rather than just toss the same four options at the player every single time.

A minor approval loss is consistent with Anders' personality. Sure, it's inconvenient that he's so sensitive, but you did hurt his feelings.

Anders is NOT gay!
Its Justice!
After his operation to Vengeance he became a sadistic Draq-Queen!

SarcastiHawke does not have this problem. Do that.  And why in God's name is it being implied that this is endemic only to male Hawkes?  I've had two female NiceHawkes get propositioned by Anders as well at that exact same point.

But if you're a FemHawke then you're not getting TEH GAY all over you!  They'll take away your man card for that, you know, being attractive to other men!  /sarcasm <_<

Seriously, this issue (and half the discussions about Isabela both in terms of race and behaviour, Serendipity, Aveline) are so full of unexamined privilege fail...let's just say it reminds me why I tend to avoid gaming forums.

You don't have to be gay. But Anders is gay, and he hits on you. It's realistic. Everyone isn't going to wait for you to get romantic.

And if you flirt with someone you like, and they deny it, you're going to feel upset.

Anders is actually a gay? I thought he was just bi-sexual.

I did sometimes find it a bit weird as well. Mostly because every romance option was basically bi-sexual.

Not too realistic imo, I would prefer it if some romances are bi / gay and others are straight.

I find it annoying that seb will only romance you if you never flirted. So yes, if you picked the flirt choice with Aveline in act one for lulz, Seb will know, and he will never love you.

Oh good, another "The Conversation Wheel Made Me Gay" topic.

Learn how to look at the picture in the middle of the circle. If it's a heart, it's a flirt or romantic response.

I did, though I ended up scanning some since it was TLDR.  There's nothing to discuss.  If you want to flirt, use the heart.  If you don't.... don't.

So you admit not reading it?

I never had an issue with this. I did notice there being like 6 or 7 different flirt options with Anders even after I told him I wasn't that way though.

It's not really being a douchebag, you just say that you are not interested somewhat aggresively. It gets the point across.
