...Anyone else planning to make a character with the first name of "Serah"?
What does that term even mean, anyway? I can't pinpoint any specific meaning beyond being a respectful form of address.
Given how Kirkwall's citizens address you...

From what I understand Serah is an honorific for someone of higher social standing that is a warrior, like Sir Knight.

serah is an expansion of the gender-ambiguous "ser" used in DA;O. The meaning is essentially the same as "sir" and the expansion is much the same as the variant "sirrah." The DA univese modification simply creates a respectful address that does not require one to know the gender of the addressee.

Its Orlesian for Ser. Like how they call nobles and knights in Ferelden Ser Whatshisname. Ser Cautherin is a good example. Kirkwall used to be under Orlesian rule and when they rebelled they kept using the title of Viscount as their ruler and I guess they maintained other aspects of Orlesian society as well.

yep, sirrah is an ancient form of address to young males...usually not meant in a kind way. The noble in the last part of Taris during Kotor actually calls Revan that despite gender. It's one of those geeky historical nods.

lol that would mean everyone is on a first name bases. Doesn't make sense considering your party calls you Hawke.

I have a friend named Sera (spelled differently, but pronounced the same way as 'serah') so it was rather weird to hear her name everywhere

It's a variant of the "ser" honorific they use in Ferelden.
At first I thought they might have intended for it to be the feminine form of "ser", but nope, it's unisexual. Just what they say in the Free Marches, I guess.
Gonna have to add that to the name pool, though, along with Ebon Hawke.

My understanding is the "Serah" is a respectful form of address used by someone of higher social standing than the person they're addressing as "serah".
