Also the whole anime thing was cheesy as well, little shout out to the non existent bioware Japanese market.
Yeeees, because only Japanese fiction uses white hair as a sign of trauma or otherworldliness. Characters like Storm, or heck, Moses in The Ten Commandments are obviously just homages to anime and nothing more.
It's not just the hair color, the hair style is pure anime goodness, he's face looks like an angsty anime teen instead of the new Avatar elves look(dont know which is worse). Voice acting is top notch, but it doesnt go with that scrawny character.

Yes, because white Americans are IMMUNE to bad hairstyles.
Of course not but this part is Off-topic. I was pinpointing the ''white coloured'' hairstyle of Fenris, linked to JRPG, linked to the japanese taste of. Hairbleach ! And even some Japs laugh of this, RIP-The creator of Pokémon created Jynx, who is not a satire of black peoples but a joke about this japanese Fashion for bleaching hairs, botoxing lips and tanning skin : Everything that fenris has !
And I don't really understand why a Western developper do that in his game. look at Fenris' eyebrows, he should have BLACK HAIRS ! what's the matter
Not sure if this has been brought up since I didn't bother to read the whole thread, but you really should do research before try to disrespect a whole race of people. It is a fact that people with blonde hair can have their hair turn white. It's call platnium blonde, and it is caused by the fact that the pigments that cause blonde hair have lightened so much the hair looks white, though it isn't.
Now for the fact that an Elf in a WRPG has white hair, OMFG there is no way an Elf in a WRPG would have white hair. Oh wait unless you count Dungeons and Dragons a WRPG, and one of the most notable figures in that series a Drow Elf that goes by the name Drizzit. But nah Drizzit has to be ripping off JRPGs too, right?

Storm's hair has nothing to do with trauma though. Every female in her bloodline has White hair, blue eyes, dark skin, and a talent for sorcery. Storm just happens to be a mutant on top of that.
Hence the "otherworldliness". White hair = magic is pretty common, too.

His hairstyle is a bob with long bangs. It's a little modern, yeah, but not exclusive to anime--there's a looot of musicians and actors out there right now with that sort of hair, too. If his hair was overly spikey and defied gravity then yeah, that'd be pretty anime, but his hair as it is now is seen in a lot of western media, too.

Whatever, he looks like an anime kid to me and if someone imitated that look that goes for him as well. You like it, I dont and who cares really, no one is going to change anybodys mind.

Aka "I dislike a computer game character because he looks like something that is simmilar to a look that is popular right now, and because I need to be DIFFERENT (while mimiking my fellow haters), I dislike this character! Who cares if he's got a solid personality, great lines, and amazing voice acting. He looks dumb! HAET."
mmmm teenaged-male excuses for disliking something.
Personally I'm not a fan of Fenris's looks, but all the other aspects of the character cements my love for him. Go go, well writen and acted!

For F's sakes dont get so offended as to make up some wack job convoluted backroud story, there is no story here. I dont like him, he's annoying to me from looks to simply being there for the anime market. They could have made a far more convincing ex slave that fit the Dragon age universe, he doesnt even look like the rest of the new Avatar elves and he's whining was just grading on my nerves. So yes go go Fenris untill you meet your end on my axe through your head. That was the best part of he's story arc I might add.
Btw if you have not noticed this is a hate Fenris thread and not cuddle him in your arms thread so you are not going to convince anyone otherwise.

When i started playing mass effect 2 i didn't like some of the characters but that changed over time. First impressions can be harsh thats all i meant. I thought merril was naive and kind of sweet, now i could strangle her, although i wouldn't create a hate thread about any character, im just saying.
I didn't realise it was wrong to have an opinion.

Look at my sig and you know how hard it is to defend against knee-jerk reactions. I love Fenris. With all my heart. Looking deeper is something that some people can't be bothered with. Be proud of yourself. You deserve it.

I see all the characters having good points and some not so good. I just don't get outright hate like that. Thanks, that was a nice response and you understood.

That's funny, I don't mind the look at all. In fact, I rather like it. VO is also very well done (though the voice doesn't really fit the look imo).
I just really, really, really dislike his personality...or lack of one. It's the same problem Anders has, really. I don't care what kind of trauma a person has gone through, it's not very realistic or interesting for them to obsess to the point where every sentance they mutter is riddled with angst over their trauma for 10 straight years. There's no depth.
He's annoying and whiney.

I get what your saying and theres nothing wrong with an oppinion, but this is a hate Fenris thread so there is little point to read it for someone who likes him. I wont go into a Fenris love thread since my eyes will have a difficult time stopping from rolling inside their sockets.
It's a subjective thing, so no amount of convincing will do any good either way. Actually I like just about every character from ME or DA, but Fenris grated on my nerves from the start heh, for many and various reasons.
