Anybody here whose watched FMA remember the fight between Edward and Cornello?

Cornello was all "Behold God's power!" with his red stone and brough a statue to life to fight Ed?

The scene where Meredith goes nuts and uses her Red Lyrium sword to animate the Gate Guardian reminds me of that.

Also not to mention the part in the end where the artifact rebounded on her and she lost.
