The guide told me that if I bring Fenris to the meeting with the Arishok, and he respects me enough, I can duel him and he won't attack the city. I didn't tell the Viscount to burn the bodies, and I updated the Arishok at the beginning and end of the quest, and I even told him yes, I would harbour the elves. It still didn't work. Am I missing something?

Getting Fenris to initiate the duel happens after the arishok says "You are basalit-an after all. Few in this city command such respect."
Does he tell you that during the dialogue?

I dueled the Arishok as a MAGE on my first playthrough. Talk about a big huge pain in the ass.
I didnt have Fenris, or gain his respect(didnt get the trophy til this time through).

Oh wait, I think I misread here. He'll always attack the city, the duel only happens later, once you've chased him to the Keep. The duel doesn't take place in the qunari compound.

okay, that really sucks. I was hoping I could avoid ONE crisis in this game. What happens if you tell Isabela to give him back the tome? Does she skip town anyways?
