Then I don't think you can judge the system.  Frankly, I've played both games and Deus Ex is so much better than the DA2 system.  Deus Ex makes sense.  What he says beyond the line is an explanation for the game.  Also, I never got that Morrigan was whining nor Lelianna.  Guess it's because I left Morrigan and Lelianna at camp all the time.  I like to be surrounded by males I guess.

I haven't played it, but I don't have to play it to know that a system like that still leaves you completely up in the air about what your character is going to say. But like I said, in the DA series, what you say is irrelevant; the dialogue is dependent solely on tone.

It's perfectly logical to me what Adam Jenson says (Deus Ex HR).  Now what Hawke says, way off and I hated the fact that BW didn't give the option of being kind to someone without it appearing as "drop your drawers, let's get it on".

It's a bit long and a little random.  So bare with me.

1. Voiced protagonist. I don't see why we can't have one and still feel like we have the same depth of conversation and character choices we had in DA:O.

Also, I would hope that the next protagonist is both better written and connects emotionally with the story better than Hawke did at times. Although I had my issues with both genders of Hawke's performances (especially fem-Hawke's odd posh accent), but I had a hard time believing Hawke cared what was going on (and that's regardless of Hawke's innate snarkyness).

2. The class system from Origins or something more akin to it. I really felt this was one of DA2's worst decisions. We're restricted so much here, not just with what kind of weapon we can wield (which is even more strict for companions) and I don't consider the DA2 system to have much benefit over Origins.

3. More Qunari (and more fleshed out character wise). I liked the Qunari redesign (although I'm not against seeing Origins Sten as a variant of the species), but I felt that character wise we only got toe deep into their culture. I think it's a shame that the Arishok who had great potential didn't do more and was fairly one note. I'd like to see them humanised a bit more, in that I mean we see more facets of their character and culture (which I think Sten did a better job in Origins).

4. Less armour/enemy/area resource reuse. I think this has been a problem to an extent from the start and perhaps what led to companions going with a unique look due to Origins having a limited variation on armours. At least the art direction took a better turn in general for DA2, but there was still a lot of clone-age and I'm sure we'd all like to see less of that. It's especially frustrating to find some hard earned armour is essentially a clone of some basic armour.

Also, more demon types in game. I thought there was too much blobs as demons in Origins and DA2.

5. A better party banter system. I think it improved slightly over Origins, but I'd wouldn't mind if the companions involved your character, since they are now voiced, and could even reference choices you've made.

6. Choose your race and Origin. Personally I think you can still limit the voice actors to just the two for the he and she protagonists and not worry too much about accents for various races. The Origin feature was great and I think most will argue it adds a lot to the experience.

7. Companions as deep as Origins. I don't want to start seeming like I'm harping on that "Origins was teh better", just that I believe that Origins companions were better written and I didn't feel it was a chore at times to interact with them or do their personal quests. I just think that there was too much angst and such with DA2's companions and that Origins ones felt like they were more their own people at times and had better developed characters.

8. Actual choices and consequences. I realise there is something of a forced narrative here in Dragon Age and that sometimes what you want to do or say may take a back seat, but I think that proved to be a double edged sword since it was really lacking in terms of choices your character could make or tangible consequences in game.

9. Flemeth & Morrigan. I would personally like some real insight into their characters. Outside Morrigan growing up as a Wild Witch there isn't a great lot to go on with these characters and they feel as though they're all mystique and little substance. I really want to see these characters reach they're potential.

10. Griffons. I don't care how for the most part.  Whether it be the last of its kind newborn hatchling or some kind of Revenant's Undead pet I want to see one in game. I think it was a bit of a shame that Origins often told you how great they all were, but they're dead now so that's that.

That's my list of randomness that I can think of for just now.

Well alright, I'd totally settle for that.  I'd also would have accepted push them into a trap hole filled with acid, spikes, or anything similar along those lines.

As long as it doesn't look like they're roping down out of thin air.  That'd actually look pretty bad @ss come to think of it...

More than anything I want the origins back and a new protagonist. The origins were primarily what set this series apart for me and provided the most incentive to replay the game.

A voiced protagonist is not a huge thing for me. I realize it is for other people; I can't see why since imagining the voice while reading doesn't seem like a huge stretch imo. I actually find the voice to be limiting since I feel the need to make a character that matches it. It's hard for me to make a male Hawke that isn't default and take him seriously.

Anyway, even if they brought back the ability to play different races getting them voiced wouldn't be impossible. They could use some of that money they must have saved from DA2's development to make it happen.

The DLC is basically what I expect, but with the ability to customize party armor.

Choices mattering and not Bioware saying you can choose, but we have the final say anyway
World as big as Infamous 2(divide the cities how you want, but= to size of I2.)
Weather changes
Hawke and the Warden
Morrigan and Flimith
Cities that look like cites in Uncharted 2 or 3 in level of detail/ or Infamous 2
Crowds like in Infamous 2 (or 3 the size of DA2 in each city if interactable as they should be)
Better loot
triple the banter and ability to romance them at any moment like DAO
all male and female version of ALL races in the game
Ability to choose race if not using Hawke again
Blizzard spell to return
Healing spell for all Mages again

Choices/ consequences that actually matter
Epic story like in Origins
Improved companion interactions
More spells and attacks
Better looking darkspawn
A female kossith LI
More armor sets
Origin stories/ race selection or THE WARDEN
Companion iconic look that changes based on the type of armor they wear (massive, light, etc.)
Some sane enemies not all crazies
More customizable options (ie hairstyle, scars, and BLOOD SMEARS) when creating your character
Better loot
Morrigan
To be able to travel and not be trapped in one city
Friendship/ rivalry meter

All Bi Love Interests
I know BioWare's been getting heat for this, but I support it whole-heartedly. And they handled it great. Every character's sexuality was slightly different and it fit their background and personality. Plus, it gave options to the player. And those who say it's unrealistic: only Isabela and Anders really made it known to you (and the latter only if you were male). For Fenris and Merrill, it never comes up unless you flirt first. It's easily ignored if you don't want to deal with it, but there for those of us who appreciate it's inclusion.

Plus, for once I felt one of the gay options (Anders) actually had a better arc during the same-sex romance than the straight one because of his history with Karl. This is far different from Origins, where Zevran made it clear he prefers women but a male Warden will do. It was handled with sensitivity and respect, which isn't something you see always, and I hope BioWare continues this trend.

Continued Focus on a Personal Narrative
Again, I know this one's been pretty polarizing. Some people say DA2 lacked focus. I personally disagree. I saw the mage/templar conflict brewing in the prologue, and it was no suprrise to me where the game was leading. I also liked the exlusion of a Big Bad or Ultimate Evil. Instead the game focused on Hawke's reactions and influence on the people around him. It felt very personal, and I grew far more attached to Hawke than to the Warden or Shepard or virtually any cRPG character I've created in sometime.

It felt like Hawke had a life, like he had people who cared about him and who he cared about in turn. I loved the reactivity to his choices, particularly his LI. In Origins, Morrigan and Alistair seemed to draw the most attention from your other companions, Zev and Leliana less so. In DA2, it feels like your choice of LI matters no matter who you pick. Your mother, Aveline, Isabela, Varric, Gamlen, Sebastian, Merrill, and probably more all have something to say about it. This was great. It felt like they'd taken an interest in Hawke's life, like they really cared. Thus it made me, as a player, care more.

I also think the game handled the personal moments superbly. I was genuinely heart-broken at Leandra's death, particularly Gamlen's reaction to it afterward. It was also a great moment to see your LI come to comfort you. Again, their reaction made it feel like my choices mattered, and was something missing in Origins. When a human noble slaughters Arl Howe, for instance, there's no way to talk to one of your companions about what this means for you. But here your LI takes the iniative. It was a great moment and I hope to see more like it in the future, companions reacting to the PC's personal and family life.

These two points you pointed out perfectly this is exactly how I felt.
I would love for you guys to expand on these moments they seemed so far and few in DA2 but at least we got something this time....

I also liked that your LI moved into your house but this really needs to be expanded on also. I had a male hawke/anders and I think I was able to talk to him once in them 3 years where he actually responded the rest of the time he stood at the top of the stairs just staring at me it started to get creepy

- Companions that have depth to their personality
- A change in art style
- A less Linear story
- Combat that's similar to Origins
- A lengthy story that relies less on sidequests that are irrelevant
- More diverse locations
- Orlais
- More importance if secondary characters like Flemeth, Sandal, etc.

Ehh it was repetitive but at least it wasn't repetitive and mind-numbingly slow/boring. imo
