Throw out everything that was done with DA2. Bring back everything that DAO had. KEEP MULTIPLAYER OUT ENTIRELY. Make the game moddable by releasing a good toolset. Oh, and retcon the entirety of the DA2 story out of existence so you can do a TRUE sequel to Dragon Age Origins.
Done and done.
It isn't complicated really. Pretend DA2 never happened, pick up where Awakenings left off, and you've got a great game.
This is pretty much what I was going to suggest. I'm onboard.

Grown up romance for that M rating. If I wanted a crappy kiss, I'd go play a game rated T for 'kissing is the most sex my parents will let me see'. Think a la the culmination at the end of ME 1. MS won't allow strictly adult content on the Box, but they backed ME 1 so if that scene at the end there was okay, then it's okay period.
No more totally crazy companions!! I mean, if you played an 'evil' Hawke, you'd have axed free-all-mages Anders WAY earlier in the game.
No more following along in any way. I want the option NOT to be reactive. I want the option to be smart and proactive. Standing by with my thumbs up my bum, tripping into crap I wouldn't necessarily even be involved with in the first place, and then being forced to pick a side, when both were (or at least parts of both) stark raving mad? Seriously? Lame.
Guess that boils down to actual choices and actual ramifications and an actual immersive story. DA 2 is great fun as a hack and slash through a seaside stop off. Not as a RPG.

2) no more body sxploding
3) bring back the finishing animations from DAo they looked GREAT and had an impact
4) slow down the combat.
5) bring back talents AND skills
6)one of the biggest flaws in both games were that in dao alistair was the tank and aveline wsa the only tank. we want otpions. when we are recreuiting a member we want to be able retribute the points and the abilities.
7) Different artstyle from DA2 (scenery , differect races weapons ect), , it was atrocious in da2
8) I would prefer MORE AND MORE dialogue options , not just only 3 like in DA2.
also REMOVE that icon that tell us what our line is going to be like.
the top option is good the bottom otpion is bad (A LA MASS EFFECT) is kinda stupid. we want to think and roleplay not just predecide what personality we want to play.
no romance icon , no aggresive icon ect
9)NO MORE wave combat.
10) More strategy less buttonn awesome
11) bring traps back, some people actually used them. a lot. i did not
12) Bring back DAO2 if possible.
13) BRING BACK the ablity to equip our party. this is not mass effect , this is dragon age.
14) STOP trying to make MASS EFFECT IN A FANASTY SETTING.
15) No more cinematic feel. Mass effect is GREAT as it is. Dragon age is different though.
16) Make Enviroments PLEASING TO THE EYE and distict.
Denerim , lake callenhad, brecilian forest, haven village, orzammar , GALLOWS were well done.
Hightown, darktown, wounded beach, lowtown , bone pit made me wish i was playing DAO.
17) make us want to buy the game 2 times.
18) Make us believe again.
Thanks

For strategy and tactics whenever I run up to an enemy with bow and start melee combat he will switch to some form of melee combat be it sword and shield or whatever. Whenever an enemy runs up to one of my companions who is currently using a bow he will still use the bow and not switch to melee combat. I want to option to set up a seamless battle via tactics and not have to pause and swap out weapons during combat and then switch tactic groups. I want there to be an option in tactics to force a switch to different tactic groups if say "Surrounded by 2 or more enemies, switch to MELEE" and also have the right weapons set up for each tactic group.
I'll give you an example using DA tactics with my improvements added.
Tactic Group : ARCHER
1. Enemy Any - Attack
2. Enemy : Nearest Warrior - Use Ability Crippling Arrow
3. Surrounded by 2 or more enemies - Swap to COMBAT
Tactic Group: COMBAT
1. Enemy: Nearest Visible - Use Ability Shield Bash
2. Enemy Any - Attack
3. End of Combat - Swap to ARCHER
Obviously this is just a small scale version of what could be done, but I think this kind of prebattle prep would appeal to numerous players. You can also expand on it a little if you are trying to make say a pure archer or caster and have another tactics group set aside purly to stun/dissable and give an option to force NPC to run away and get distance between their enemies so they can start using their bow again or casting. Its just an idea but no one has ever done this before as far as I know.

Not having to be a bloody Human! That's one thing that pissed me off with DA2, I'm not a big fan of Human's being the hero is beyond Clichéd
This kind of ties in to the point above, being able to choose your race/gender but add to it, not only Dwarf, Elf & Human, but add Qunari too
Also, as we've heard that 'The Warden' returns possibly in a cameo, I want it to be mentioned if they chose to join, or in the case of the Dalish Warden I played, Duncan dragged her Kicking & screaming to Ostagar.
I think saying whether they chose to be a Warden or not would add some depth to the narrative.
Aside from that I think ioannisdenton hit it pretty much on the head.

I really would like a little bit more of realism(in sense of graphic and ambients) similar to The Witcher series. The game should be darker and with an obscure plot and environments. I really would like DA3 to be set in Tevinter maybe being a Magister that is meddling in power struggles against other mages. We should not being good in every game......just so you know
tevinter FTW

1. Have a combination of DAO and DA2 characters
2. Continue playing as Hawke in 3 (make it that we see our decisions in DA2 take effect)
3. Avoid adding too many new characters (already have a good collection of it is)
4. Keep the DA2 combat system but have more varying maps.
5. AVOID endings that leaves everything hanging

In Dragon age 2, if you had a bow and a person got close to you, you would pull out a dagger and start stabbing them. Well....if that hapopens shouldn't we be able to pick the dagger we stab them with? Because then the dagger we use can do damage as the game goes on, instead of not doing anything. Andraste guide you.
THANK YOU!!!! This upset me so much. Plus all those dual-wielding special abilities were just mote unless you were actually packing a pair of daggers. For rogues, I want to be able to switch automatically, or at least like in DA:O you could just bring up the radial menu and BOOM, weapon switch. With DA2 it was a bit of a pain in the ass.
As far as storyline and appearance, more DA2 than DA:O; DA:O was so dark and grainy and LOOONG.
Ah but agree with some about the hair; give us some better hair ... a lot of the hair is kind of a joke; like only someone wanting to make a goofy looking Hwke for ****s and giggles would pick 4 out of 5 of those hair types...

So you are able to give us this universal definition of a RPG? One that everyone can agree with that is the perfect definition that no person can find fault with?
