Keep everything from DA2, just change the locations' looks, because it really is boring to scavenge 200000 same looking caves -,-

I think the improvements to archery were terrific in DA2 but I'm kinda bummed that there were no specializations that catered specifically to someone who wants to focus on that alone. I understand that being a Ranger in Kirkwall really wouldn't have made any sense but seeing as how we will most likely be getting out of the city in DA3 I would like to see Bioware bring that specialization back.

I kind of miss the olden days of the NWN ranger class where you were offered a nice selection of possible animal companions before starting the game. I would like that in DA3. Origins had this class but it really needed something more and the summoned animal companions were kind of boring and even gross (yeah, I'm looking at you spider). There must be some big cat's in Thedas, I think having a tiger or leopard as a possibility would be cool, or a small bronto (as others have suggested) or a smaller dragonling.

Also, I would like to see some special skills for the ranger like tracking or something that would allow you to determine how many and what kind of enemies are about. And some form of charm animal type of skill would great. The ability to turn animals against their handlers using some kind of simple blood magic would be neat.

I supposed the easiest thing to describe would be to say "Another game, like Origins, not DA2". I stil enjoyed DA2, not a hater or anything but I enjoyed nearly everything about Origins a lot lot more. Especially the combat system, sorry but mashing X into waves of one hit kill enemies is really boring really quick, fewer, tougher enemies where tactics matter more please. Plus companion armour and such like Origins, let me equip who I want in whatever I want.

After that I want to play as my Warden, Hawke wasn't my character, Hawke was Hawke. After investing so much time creating a warden throughout Origins I as shocked they just ditched him/her for DA2. I was really hoping the series would play out like Mass Effect and our characters story gets new chapters. Is really disjointed when you're forced to play new characters in sequels. Especially since the ending for Origins which Bioware seem to have adopted for sequels is the Dark Ritual one, since both the Warden and Alister are either seen/mentioned alive in DA2. That storyline needs finishing and it needs the original characters to do it right, imo.

I'd like my choices in Origins and DA2 to really matter also, some note in a codex I really do not care about.

Again, in short, Dragon Age Origins II, in gameplay, game design, characters and following up story.

An idea came into my head the other day as I was mashing away at Dark Souls:
What about another weapons discipline in polearms?
I think it would be interesting to have a character use spears or halberds.
Additionally, if Hawke & The Warden are used what about their specialisations? My main focus is that my mage Warden was a blood mage & she romanced Alistair & my first mage Hawke was a blood mage who romanced Fenris.
Anyway my point is, will this be mentioned? Or, if the characters are used, will they just be basic 'Mage'

Better Customization. DA2 improed over DAO in this aspect, but I still find it rather lacking that there aren't many options if I want to create a black character. It's either bald, shaved, or fugly ass cornrows.

more realistic but still fantastic. I want to struggle in killing one person and when that happens you actually feel accomplish. rather than press a button and the person splodes.

Anything more Origings and less DA2. And if god allows, no EA craps your game to sell more... please!!!

When I've played origins I had hope for new oldstyle RPG, the quests, the lines, the slowmotion critical kills, the depth. When I played DA2 all my dreams became nightmares... linear piece of crap made only to be multiplataform and nothing else... sad. Almost an Action Game with story... nothing else...

I want choices from past games to be acknowledged more. Not to change things so much as to be acknowledged. Like the emails and news bulletins in ME2.

Frankly, more RPG elements to the point it's more RPG than Action RPG. If I want the latter, I can turn elsewhere. It doesn't really matter to me if DA 3 involves the warden or not. I just want a real, honest-to-goodness RPG.

I know...keep wanting, right? LOL

What is there to add that would make it more of an rpg? Other than non combat skills, the games have the same ammount of your typical rpg mechanics.

They do NOT have the same typical RPG mechanics, and honestly, I would like the next Dragon Age to be even more RPG than Origins was.  What I would like:

Exploration (in relation to DA 2, Origins was all right)
Turn-based
Quest resolutions that do not always end in fighting
Meaningful sidequests with their own little storyline rather than Fed-Ex  stuff
Puzzles
Impactful decisions (again Origins was all right in this, DA 2 it does not matter what you decide)
Complex characters (Origins was good, could have been better)
Character interaction not limited to camp (Origins was good, could have been better)
No waves or ninja drops
Immersion (meaning a world that is actually alive rather than stagnant, ala Kirkwall)
More gray, less black and white factions
Non-combat skills
Day and night cycles

I could go on, but I won't.

1. DA2 Crafting system. Much less hassle imo (I actually used it, unlike DA:O).

2. DA2 style combat, only a little slower and less flashy animations. Waves should be implemented in a reasonable way, like in Legacy, where enemies came through doorways, around corners, etc.

3. No junk, just replace it with its equivalent amount in coin.

3. More political intrigue. The political aspects of DA2 and DA:A (dealing with the assassination plot) were very well done, and more would always be better.

4. DA2 party dialogue. The dialogue felt much more natural in DA2, rather than the "walking codex" dialogue in DA:O.

5. Return to DA:O item tiers. In DA2, whenever I found a weapon, it would stay usefull for 2-3 levels at the most before I found another sword that did +1 or +3 more damage. In DA:O, I'd have weapons that stayed useful for much longer. Also, a mechanic to upgrade an item to a higher tier(like the storage chest bug in DA:O) should be put into the game.

6. A shop to buy "lost" items like the Black Emporium. If I miss a resource, armor upgrade, tomes, etc that disappear after an act I want to find it there.

7. More companion armor choice. I'd suggest keeping the "one piece" armor sets the companions have now, but allow us to choose between different sets. They should all level up like in DA2, but each set should have different secondary bonuses. And I know I'm going to catch a lot of flak for this, but I would like to see some unique "one piece" sets for the protagonist as well.

8. Humans with pointy ears ftw.

[snip]

While I agree on pretty much every point, I think any of those things make it any more of an RPG, however I'd rather not open that can of worms, so forget I said anything.

I think you should be able to adjust the height of your character, and if he is scrawny or buff because everyone in the game, of the same race, are the same height and they are all kinda buff. Can you please make elves look like they used too? I like the tattoos but the forehead and nose area is weird. Also, more eyes colors like purple. Warrior Mohawks would also be great. Oh and please fix the ears, they look gross. Oh and full body tattoos! Please make our main character voiced again! I loved that. In DA3 you we should start off as an Orlesian with an accent.

Also, I think that you should have the Warden and Hawke as companions. Another thing that would be cool is more companion rivalry and betrayal. If you are a mage and you allow a templar in the group, he could possibly betray you and you go to some mage prison or something. Also, if you decide to romance companion A and not companion B, then companion B could have a relationship with a different companion. Oh and you should be able to choose your race in this one because I believe it would be a lot more interesting if it was an affair that effected every race and every race had its heroes instead of it being mostly humans... and an elf story would be cool because then you could have like a three way war with like elves, chantry, mages, slavers. A qunari character as a choice would be cool too because you couldve grown up following the Qun but are breaking out of the path and finding yourself.

Please keep the fighting quick or have an option to change it because I love the quick fighting, especially as a mage. Please no guns, that always ruins a series if you ask me. When the Fable games started including guns, they went down hill. I think more intense puzzles would be great too.

Lastly, I like the origins dialouge more because you could always just talk to them at camp instead of having to wait for them to like you more or anything like that. I like that the DA2 dialogue didnt allow talk while you are out of their area because that was annoying if you accidentaly clicked on a companion in origins. I like the idea of having a camp. It was a pain to have to go to each individual characters house/hangout spot just to talk to them.

As for companions, a half Qunari half Human dude with normal black hair, pale skin, horns, black body tattoos, and purple eyes that dual weilds or has a bow. That would be awesome. An ex-paragon Dwarf with a huge axe or war hammer. An Orlesian chavalier. A dwarf rogue from Kal Sharok. A Mabari in which you can choose if its white, black, brown, etc. A Dalish Elf mage from that place in Rivain where humans and elves lived together, who has been posessed before but found a way to be un-posessed, who is also a "dreamer". Ohgren too, gotta love him! This would be GREAT :D

The model renders -- especially the elves -- for DA 2 are a huge immersion buster for me.  I prefer how the Witcher 2 and Skyrim design their elves or even the ones in Origins.

Elves, by the way, were never meant to look a lot different than humans.  Since they are humanoids, it stands to reason elves would look similar with some differences, but not so many differences elves appear to have come from outerspace.

Totally agree. Im playing DA2 right now and I saw Zevran... way different and he looks hideous. I think Elves should be like they are in Lord of the Rings. Tall, beautiful, human-like, with pointy ears. It would make the story more intense, I think, if humans enlaved these beautiful elves rather than the space elves.

I think bioware needs geth back there strong points

Communication systeem in dragon age orgins was awsome same for the way the bring the story in the game
the party members are best aspect of the game and this way bioware sticks out special in orgins. I like the way the try improve that in dragon age 2 but the realy did not do that

so i like see you can talk whit pary members when i ever you like so the did orgins also like the see there have there onw storie like did dragon age if the combinate those point the have one part of story right.

For world i would like tho see become bigger then one city but the allready confriment to going to do that so thats awsome

For the rest i would like to see more combant not button smashing and wave's less is beter sometimes

The story i dont realy care what is so long its good and long i definaly want have more main quest en interesting side quest. Questing is awsome

For the rest i would like game that blows me away and where i need travel alot like orgins see new things and geth blowing away because is good

And less but not lease. Geth a good comuncation systeem the wheel dragon age 2 was so annoning. I want know wat i am saying and not bee suprised. Or keep but give us options so we know what we going to say before whe said it. So if you want make simpele give the three options whit the thing behind like kind argrisive and give us then the line's we cant use

so bioware take your time make a good game

I don't know why Bioware changed the art style so drastically in DA2. The darkspawn are no longer believable, and the characters we have come to know and love from Origins are... disappointing.

Dragon Age was meant to be a dark-fantasy type game, leaning on the side of realism. That means that the combat style and the art style had a reasonable degree of realism to it. But Dragon Age 2 didn't stay true to these principles. I'll never understand why they made it into a cartoon instead of sticking by what made the franchise great.

Dragon Age needs to return to its roots for the next game. Bring back the old art style, the old combat system, with tweaks, adjustments and additions... bring back what made Dragon Age so unique and successful.

For the record I'm going to outright state that I loved Origins and was very "blah" with DA2.  Also, I haven't played any DLC besides launch day DLC for DA2. That being said my list includes:

1) Keep the voiced protagonist and expand upon giving the character a unique personality based on the dialouge choices.  Track my responses to certain team members and/or NPCs individually.  If I'm always sarcastic to Isabella but rude to everyone else I shouldn't be telling Isabella to **** off when she asks me to buy her a drink, but I would if Anders asked me to.  If I pick responses that indicate my faith in the maker or disgust with mages, my personality should reflect that too and have that have an impact.  Also have more than just the three personalities.  Have certain combination of choices in certain situations unlock certain personalities.  If I pick all diplomatic choices I can be attached to the "Saintly" personality, or if I pick diplomatic choices but end up making decisions that betray those people later I can unlock the "Con Artist" personality for my character.  If I pick Aggressive responses for evil people but Diplomatic responses for good people I can be of a "Vigilante" personality, and so on and so fourth.  Also please have an option for the players to be mustache twirling mad cackling evil.  Where Skyrim is an open world, Dragon Age can still be a tunnel experience but with multiple ways of going through that same experience.

2) Bring back non-comat skills but don't force them on those that don't want them.  Have vialable alternatives for those that don't want to worry about making traps and potions.  Perhaps saving up all your non-combat skills can give you extra points to spend on specializations (mabey at a ratio like 5:1 or something like that).  Also, don't be stupid about it like runecrafting in Awakenings.

3) Bring back out of combat stealth.

4) Ability to select different races.  You could be a half elf or half dwarf and just have a different parent depending on your race.  Adopted works fine too.

5) Go back to being able to equip your companions with found gear.  Have an "autogear" option that automatically gears the companion with the gear best for them.  Seriously, if you have auto level up then you can have autogear as well.

6) Bring back the camp, even if it's not the camp.  I alwaysthought that if you went into The Hanged Man at night that everyone should be there.

I never got to see Zeaven! What have they dne?!!!!! I saw the picture! I had to kill him in the first game cuz he betrayed me so will he show up if I use another storyline? How do I meet Zeaven by the way? Well anyways elves should be changed. I mean I lv that they made their eyes so much prettier but everything else was messed up like hell..,,i want them to make them beautiful and grateful. And I got an idea! If ur a Elve u should be able to climb trees and spot enemies from far away and if ur a dwavfe u should be able to get into small places m humans if rogues or whatever can track and qunari should be able to lift heavy objects. So when u switch to ur allies it is more fun. Andraste guide you.
