In some ways, take a step back, like the pacing of the combat. Not everything has to explode in clouds of blood, not every fight has to includes waves of reinforcements out of nowhere.

In some ways, take a step further - like the superfluous junk items.

Some things are quite spot on, I like the new crafting system, and, for once, contrary to Origins, actually crafted items.

I'm glad about the voiced protagonist, and I like the addition of a "sarcastic" tone a lot. Keep that. Frontload the companion dialogue a bit, I want to learn something about them, not running around with them for hours without any chance to talk to them. And, for once, don't end any romance with it's cuddle scene, leave some dialogue - like in LoTSB, a chance to voice my doubts and concerns is refreshing.
The reintroduction of persuade options would be nice, though. I want to be able to skip some fights, due to dialogue, maybe even sometimes with stealth.

That said, I'd like to see a return of a little bit of black and white, don't paint everything in shades of grey. And some more focus on a main storyline, that leaves choice to us, would be welcome.

And finaly, take your time. Flesh out those fetch quests, or leave them. Hire additional level artists, and refrain from reusing the very same map over and over again.

I myself would be very interested in some sort of tie-in from Origins and 2 story lines intersecting in a direct manner rather than just story influence. The thought of my mage's story from origins and my champion of kirkwall's mage meeting up on a battlefield in either direct confrontation or cooperative unity would be absolutly amazing. The option ( through choice of events in story plus save game imports ) to arrive at that meeting with either option at the player's disposal would be beyond anything I can describe at the moment . The thought of said event is just pure awesomness.

7. Female dwarves
I missed them. :(

8. Less reused maps.
Yeah, like you haven't heard this a hundred times.

1. Ability to play different races (solved by the ol' adopted background = same accent for voiced protagonist)
2. Voiced protagonist, it gives the protagonist character and depth.
3. The conversation wheel, I like it. It's a clever way of showing your options.
4. Fatalities/Kill animations. No more exploding corpses!
5. No recycled maps
6. Companion armor
7. More choises when it comes to character building. I miss my Str/Dex dual longsword wielding Rogue.
8. Same combat pace but no more waves of enemies.
9. Less linear story, more main quests, less sidequests.
10. More armor sets, 3 is not enough.

All of this, plus;
- Bring back the AW spec for mages
- More mage armour, similar to the Champion armour. As a male mage, you look ridiculous in those dress-like robes
- For female mages, more "stylish" robes, similar to the Chasind robes from Origins
- Elves to look like they did in Origins, not the horrible DAII re-designs
- Greater impact for being a Blood Mage
- Keep the crafting/gathering system from DAII

And last but not least, Cullen for bisexual LI (with his DAII appearance). Or at least make him a companion.

Improvements:

1. Origins for reasons others have mentioned. Bonus points for Quinari/Tal Vashoth option.

2. Improved Crafting system. The only real benefit to crafting was that I got to shop from home and there was no limit (with one exception) to how many I could buy.

I know the crafting supplies were a pain in Origins/Awakening because they rook up space, but we might be better off with a carried crafting kit that can stock up to 99 of each crafting element. Ultimately, crafting should feel more like crafting than shopping.

3. Alternative characters. If I did something to eliminate a character in my game, just toss in another name and similar background. I doubt many will care if you recycle the voice actor and just replace a couple pertinent lines.

4. New Companions. I mention this only because someone mentioned above that they want all recycled companions. I'd like to see companions that haven't been in the party before. One recycled companion is fun, but too many gets repetitive.

5. Cross-class capabilities. Allow blurring the lines a bit between the classes.

a. Make some weapons cross class or allow certain specializations to reach accross the class barrier. Maybe there is a rogue specializations that uses regular sized weapons instead of daggers or a warrior class that can use crossbows.

b. Bring back the Arcane Warrior. Use Magic for attack and damage and permit them to break the armor rules in some way.

c. Let Templars drink Lyrium potions to regenerate stamina.

d. Give rogues the ability to take the forbidden knowledge route like blood mages and reavers.

6. Blood Magic improvements. I really appreciated the changes to blood magic. Starting with a 2/1 MP/HP ratio and improving it was awesome. Near the end of the story I even stripped Merril of all of her willpower and turned it into constitution. When it comes to my own character, I have to chose between upgrading my robes and buying up my health to support my blood magic. If the same style of pre-requisites are used for armor, maybe allow blood mages to substitute their Constitution.

7. Optional character specializations. I want to feel like I have almost as much control over the style of my companions as I do my main character. Simply giving each of them a single specialization point when the main character would get his second specialization would be awesom.

8. Companion Equipment. Giving companions their own style is cool, but it sucks when I keep finding robes that would help Anders heal and they are restricted to me. I did notice that there were several armor styles that repeat. Example: Isabella might have her own template for Argent, Gilt, Silverite, etc...

9. A camplike area where I can see my the inventory of all my companions and access my storage. To revamp my party inventory as it is, I have to constantly leave home and load another area and look at three companions at a time.

10. Visible item levels and levels only for items that need them. Two rings with the exact same benefit should not be priced differently.

11. More runes to mimic item benefits. More options for customization is almost always better. We could have blood runes for improving blood magic, mending runes for improving healing, and empowering runes to make items level with their wielder. If there is a power that can be slapped on an item, we should have a rune for it.

12. Completely customizable items with only rune slots. Maybe we could have some sort of master-smith or Sandal retrofit equipment at a cost so it is enchantable.

13. Better rogue helmets. I shouldn't have to chose between displaying my helmet and seeing my character's face outside of dialog. More hoods (like the champion helm) would perfectly fit that niche.

14. Two weapon slots. I may have a warrior who is geared to swing a huge sword around, but its nice to have the option to allow him to defend himself better by switching to a smaller weapon and a shield.

15. If used again, signature weapons, like Bianca, should gain rune slots over time. This allows them to be as customizable as if you'd given the character in question new weapons over time.

16. Persistent Helmet option. I like that we can ditch the helmet image if we don't like the way it looks, but some helmets really complete the character image. It would be nice to be able to hide, conditionally display (off during dialogue), or always display helmets on a per-character basis.

Companions.
If any of these characters are eliminated due to a Hawke/Waden choice, just change the name and a few details relating to their past. Too many miraculous survivals gets old.

1. Feynriel. That kid's got some awesome storyline waiting for him.

2. Bethany/Carver. Hawke's siblings felt like their stories are just beginning. To minimize the range of scripting, they can easily join the Wardens post DA2.

3. Maraas. He just feels like a set up for something later. Alternatively, maybe make him relevant to Hawke in some DLC.

4. If not Maraas, an uncollared sarabaas could be extremely cool.

5. A dwarf from Kal-Shirok. We've gotten to see dwarves in Orzammar and the surface, but we have little experience with the other Dwarven society. Maybe we could even meet a (former?) Rock-Knocker.

Plot.

1. The OGB. If we didn't complete the ritual, maybe Morrigan or someone else performed an incomplete ritual that only brought over a small piece of that soul. This would be awesome for the main character since that child is obviously not meant to be a footnote in history.

2. Some sort of sympathetic view of Tevinter would be nice. Thus far everyone significant from there seems to be a magister, a slaver, or a slave. I'd love to learn that not everyone who goes there either gets crushed by magister politics.

3. The Qunari/Tevinter war could make for an awesome background. Putting the story on Seheron would allow for some interesting tensions, though if handled poorly, might feel too much like the mage/templar conflict in DA2.

Less Gore - More finishing moves

More sidequests - Less finding dead bodies and people thanking you because they thought "They lost this forever..."

DA3 Desires

  • Love the choices for conversations would like it better with a more expanded selection for companions
  • END the repeat maps, my first play through I thought oh I have seen this part before and by start of act 2 I was extremely bored.
  • Heavier Main Quest less Side quests (DA2 side quests took a lot away from the main story I forgot about it by the time I was done.
  • Keep the unlockables and codes and good one with the facebook game(The Signature Edition armor was dissapointing)
  • Make our home, Armor, etc customizable, I know it sounds petty but it would be nice to hang up some trophys (I spent 3 hours in Morrowind stacking books I had collected in the bookshelf. Sounds boring but it was mine to do and manipulate and customize)
  • Is there any possibility of an online two player mode to four player mode?
  • Exploding bodies really and mindless drone waves of mobs... le sigh maybe 10 years ago
  • I don't care what the media says or people get all worked up about but sex sells. Keep the controversial stuff but allow the parental settings to disable the content. If anyone has a problem they should follow the M for mature 17+ rating.
  • Love the runes and potions
  • Potions and Runes really shouldn't count as pack space or atleast make a seperate pack for those
  • I've been gaming for 26 years and I am 33 now, been in a lot of MMORPG Beta's and spend too much time playing games but one thing the Dev's need to remember... don't rush your game and listen to the players. Given people will whine and complain but if the voice is common and loud on something specific... listen. It will make you retain dedicated players willing to pay extra for those special editions.
  • Don't send out a incomplete game... Two Worlds comes to mind.
  • Don't dumb down your game to attract casual players... Asherons Call 2 (PC) FAILURE comes to mind
  • Make finding items worth the search... all these crates and barrels of JUNK!
  • What is with the bulky armor on women? I am female and ughh really, ok the armor with cleavage is pointless but I don't want to run around thinking I should collapse in a trembling heap from the weight.
  • Little bit more control with the party, I was having some difficulty getting them where I wanted. The hold selection is nice but it would be nicer to command hold to each individual character instead of the party. such ch as putting an archer up high and alone.
  • Threat is a pain
  • Less cartoon feeling in some of the animations, scenery, objects
  • Love the game keep it up thanks!

I want :
  • Less 'Speedy Gonzalez' combat, and proper tactical fights. It hardly matters in DA 2 what resistances your enemies have, you just have to deal more damage than he does. Tactical positioning is a nonsense in DA 2, no thanks to the wave system. I want combat to mean more than it does in DA 2, fighting for the sake of exp and loot (which are what most fights in Kirkwall seem to be about). Closing attacks are also useless on moving targets, as my rogue finds out in every fight. Leap, stab thin air, rinse and repeat. Skeletons coming in to fight are one of the most glaring issues where they shuffle at 500fps to get to Hawke and co.
  • More epic, killing your first Ogre in DAO was epic. Killing Flemeth or the High Dragon in DAO was epic. Nothing I killed in DA 2 felt epic. The Ancient Rock Wraith had all of 2 seconds of a cinematic. The course of saving Ferelden was epic. My rise to power in DA 2 felt sadly less epic. For all my skills and abilities I couldn't save my own mother, I couldn't save a scared woman from her blood mage husband. And then after all that I vanish into obscurity. *sad sigh*
  • Better, more varied loot. It's probably an unhappy middle ground right now, where there are a crapload of things that none in your party can equip. Sure, there are plenty of weapons but you zone out after Superior Longsword #17, and then there are stacks upon stacks of armour that Hawke can't equip, but so can't anyone else. I think making certain equipment exclusive to a class, like the Enasalin and Stonehammer equipment sets are good, but with all the crap that you see at a merchant but can't buy because no one can equip it, wasted space? Also accessories are currently being underrated by the star system, since an amulet that gives me +17mana/stamina is better than an amulet that gives me +1 to all stats,+5% crit chance, etc etc?
  • No more art changes, the current super spiky armour thing doesn't really float my boat but I'm indifferent to that change. If at all possible bring back the old Darkspawn too, I really want to see what the vision is for the current Darkspawn Brood Mother and how well it fits with the current putty patrol/skeletor/Lord Zedd hybrids.
  • A detachable camera and isometric view, with no snap-to mouse work. Plus slightly smarter companion tactic use where they target an enemy instead of the empty space they occupied a few seconds ago.
  • More meaningful character choices/specializations. Being a Templar has absolutely zero story effect. Being a blood mage I hear has zero story effect. Why? These are major issues within the game, but the PC is seemingly immune from any sort of backlash by being associated to either.
That is all that comes to mind right now..

1: Frazetta, Vallejo, Royo -style magical thong-suit armor.:o
2: Blades on chains, like that very cool Hong Kong movie, or God of War.
3: A great idea I had, is a helmet with a crown of blades, like horns, and then the protagonist can spin his head at high rpm, like a propeller, and run headfirst into enemies, making them explode in blood, entrails and bodyparts.

(yea, I might be like this for awhile. Haven't decided yet. And I actually wouldn't mind thong-suit armor, :innocent:but then the environment - like in a city - should react to me and the scandalous nudity. And I'm half serious about the chain blades. And the bladed helmet needs work but seems promising too, though we might skip that high rpm thing.)

C. Princess is 40, Prince is 30

I want to see a really good antagonist! One who is equivalent to us in power, not someone who is an epic, world-ending dragon from the beginning. Someone who is our equal, but opposite. A rival I guess?

I want to see Hawke and the Warden both be party members through the whole game (Having two main characters!? But Bioware can do it!) not just cameos.

I want Qunari party member. Tal-Vashoth is fine too... his perspective of the Qun might be easier to understand for us outisders.

I want a lot of the old party members to come back... in fact to be honest, to make a great game for me you wouldn't even need anyone new... just bring back a healthy combination of DA1 and DA2 people. Cameo the ones that don't make it in. Alternatively, make former NPCs party members (like Flemeth).

Don't do another rise to power. Don't get me wrong, I loved it. but we've made two heroes now- let us start a game already heroic feeling. Being a hero has its challenges too.

Political intrigue in Orlais for the sneaking/diplomacy stuff, and a trip to the Anderfels for some good old monster bashing. A whole storyline about preventing/starting a war between Ferelden and Orlais would make me very happy.

Anders, Merrill, Varric, Isabela, Shale, Nate, Sigrun, Leliana and Sten. As companions or quest givers, or even antagonists, not just cameos.

Flemeth.

Aveline. Good enough to deserve a 'want' of her own. I love her. Lukas Kristjanson, I am your fan forever. In a largely non-stalker way. =]

More and interesting areas

Day/Night toggle. This was great.

Hide helmet. This was also great.

DA2 combat. If I ever see the Origins combat shuffle again, I will cry.

Weapon switching. And warriors should be able to use bows, just not necessarily as well as an archer.

Archery class, or more archery skills

Right-click on items in inventory for little descriptions of them. I miss that.

Bits of random exploration. Caves, or even entire maps that you can just wander around picking up sidequests/finding good loot/killing interesting monsters rather than having places only accessible when you get a quest to go there.

DA2-style boss monsters. The optional encounters, in particular, are fantastically challenging.

All the good stuff like companion interaction, romance, and great storytelling that you guys will deliver anyway.

That's probably enough for now.

Edit: Oh yeah, and the return of non-combat skills such as coercion and lockpicking. I liked making a very sneaky but socially awkward rogue, or a real charmer who couldn't pick a lock to save her life. I don't want all my character-types to effectively be the same in terms of what they can do outside of battle.

These are the point i would like to see in da3.

go back to the companion dialogues style of origin. Talking to them only when they have a quest is totally non-immersive.

Be able to at least customize the look of companion a little ( maybe keep the general looking and add some element )

Put back deathblow instead of exploding bodies.

A little more mature content. In europe it's pegi 18+ ( almost equivalent to rated R i think ) And ad a parental controle over it maybe.

Keep digging the narrative frame system, it's very interesting.

try yo add a little more epic wind in the plots. I'm not talking about a super demon to defeat, or save the world once again but the story of da2 seems a little too... flat by time. More of act 2 and 3 ending dispatch all trhought the game would be perfect.

More specialisation, Missed the two sworded warrior.

More environnement, and make them evolutive. Like 2 or 3 city coupled with the narrative frame and somes area around for us to travel between the cities.

Less directed story. Make our choices matters. Let us even become the bad guy depending on our choices, that would be amazing.

Give us a toolset with the game, and focus the DLC on new quest/caracter/adventures. selling DLC armor is almost pointless IMO.

Be able to attack ennemies without having to warn them. Missed lockpicking and furtivity for allow us to robber merchant chest :)

Quests and well written short stories that give you talent trees that have more than 6 moves / improvements to them. Reaver, Templar, Berserker, Bloodmage etc needs to have more emphasis and lead to conversations with companions about your choices and give you different quests, perhaps even different outcomes to them.

Give hawke more conversation / cutscene powers.

I want item descriptions, the what I consider to be an upgrade to the romance system featured in II, the option to speak to my companions and have conversations when I desire as in Origins. Truthfully, that's about it. If I could add anything else at all..it would be a larger world, though I think Kirkwall was interesting enough for the entire game to take place there.

Personally, I would like an interactive environment to go along with the characters scheme. An economy that could be purchased, invested in, dirtied in, and evolve. Its not uncharacteristic that one should have an impact on everything around them if they choose to play a path like that. I would note the assassin's creed: brotherhood of having an environment like that, but change it so it can fork different ways(sadistic route=eventual carnage but you benefit and everything you own is incredible, laxed route=laxed environment where nobles only benefit and the slums are still teh slums but the good parts of places are incredible, honest approach=everyone is equal, and as such everything is normalized.). Then combine it with dragon age's character development and combat system, and I could see a masterpiece.
