wondering if it is possible if/when the toolset is released to import the whole DA game to DA2. so you get the epicness of DA:O with the revamped combat system.
then all yourd have to do is voice overs for the PC and you got the perfect RPG!
possible to mod DA into DA2?

It could be done with a toolset. They're both using the same engine, but it'd be really hard.

I said this in another similar thread.. it took over 100 people 1.5 years to make DA2, scale that with trying to make Origins into this new engine and you can imagine what it would take. Origins has about 60% more content in the main story line.

Not possible, there have been some significant changes/improvements to the DA2 engine and many other aspects are just too different between the 2 games.gombie wrote...

That's a shame, DA2 is so much slicker to use. It would be nice to play through DA with DA2's features.

By limiting it to human and Noble and Magi origins, it could be like the hawke selection in DA2, next would be the issue of voicing... that's a gargantuan amount of lines and the dialogue needs to be rewritten to fit the wheel. This would be too much work for us mere mortals, even in great number. We would also need a large amount of modellers and texturers to remake the DA:O assets. I would shrug it off -- were I you.
A similiar story could perhaps be feasable, like a side effect of the blight occuring somewhere else, but then we still need to limit the character to one background/origin.

it would be better to import the whole DA2 game to DA:O
than make some other locations (or change some of the existent... some location have the same map even if they are different places)
than delete the DA2 user interface
and maybe it would be at the same level of DA:O

If\\when we get the toolset, it may be possible to open the DAO level resources and output them as DA2 level layouts instead of the DAO versions; we have most of the rest of the game resources for DAO and it may be a matter of exporting the conversations in the new format.
