Personally I'd like to see all the DA2 folks return.

Maybe I'm in the minority? Really, I didn't have outstanding hate for anyone.

I liked everyone, but I did think Aveline was kind of boring. She was very likable, she just doesn't really stand out. That's why I kind of doubt we will be seeing her in the future much. That's just my opinion though, I could be totally wrong.

Well... to be honest I agree with you on that. She's kind of a case closed sort of character too. She's married, she's got an honest job, ect. I doubt she'll pop up in a future game except maybe for a cameo.

While I liked Aveline I would say she was probably the most boring character for me.

aether make it a totally different story or have all the cast in it but they likely wont cos it say that all your comps went there own way but if they do a DA 3 with hawk and no marill or varic then no DA3 for me. Also how is her story boring or badly written? its not its one of only 2 comp quest that made me really feel something it;s just buggy as hell witch is ashame as she deserves better.

Right, I presume she'll be part of expansions, assuming at least that they take place before the Champion leaves kirkwall. 

I just kind of presume that she'll be so settled into her new life that it would be rather odd for Aveline to follow Hawke anywhere after that.

Any characters capable of being killed in the game probably will not appear in the next game except as a cameo. So Anders and Fenris are out for my next game. Since I hated Anders in Awakening, the option to kill him at the end was a given for me.

I would hope that the one companion that stays with you on your journey shows up in any further stories.

my guess is that the expansion will start with cassandra finding hawke with his/her love, and convincing them to help her to save as much as they can.

Im guessing your love interest will be a companion, cassandra, possibly varric again

Then you will get your pick of various other companions.  i would love to have bethany come back into da2 since i imagine she is sailing with isabela and hawke on the run, but since there are so many variations to how bethany/carver can go i doubt it.

Yeah sort of. But then again she was mortally wounded next to an urn that can cure any ailment so I guess it's sort of believable she is back

I'm hoping for Cullen but y'know if everyone came back to form one massive super party that would sweep awesome gore-ious devastation against whatever enemy I'd be okay with that.

not going to happen. They'd have to take four different people into consideration, the budget wouldn't extend to all that alternative VO that may never even get used.

I never thought about the fact that you could've killed Leliana during the Urn quest O_O. Big big plot hole, unless it's like if Anders' "dies" in your Awakening epilogue ;P. 

The game will probably just ignore it.

I hope your DA2 LI is included in DA3 , Anders after all travels with Hawke after everyone leaves.

Varric, Hawke, Isabela and Anders would be the top four that might be pushed into a DA3 as cameos.

For an expansion on DA2. Hawke is a no brainer, maybe your love interest... and possibly one other.

With the way it ended though... everyone split off save your love interest so if they do make an expansion for Hawke it'll be difficult to say. Maybe they'll tell the story of how you all parted ways? I mean DA2 is ABOUT Hawke. Not the Gray Wardens.

I'd be all up for a Cullen role expansion in DA3 as a possible companion. After watching him stand his ground against Meredith, my previous nonexistent respect for him suddenly surfaced. He's shown more balls than Orsino, Elthina, and other templars combined. That at least counts for something. He'd be the token templar in the party to provide a sympathetic perspective towards the Order, but I can also see that his potential Knight-Commander status might give him far more important responsibilities than following you around.

I hope the new PC meets up with Hawke and 'The Warden' and they have a conversation where I get to choose the dialogue for all three.

Flemeth is a given after all she a major part of the DA world.
If Expansion then clearly Cassandra & Varric will return (if not as companions then in there role in telling the story at lest).
As for the rest all bets are off, one thing for sure anyone who could die will not be making a return.

As for DA3 depends on where and when it set only guaranteed character is Flemeth, though I have to say the most likely returnees are Cassandra & Varric.

I am hoping Cullen will return I agree he seems that he is being prepped for a future role as a companion. If so I hope he is romanceable  I've always wanted to see more of his story since Dragon Age Mage origin.
