Arishok's Impale Move...

How did Hawke survive being impaled by the Arishok's sword and lifted up over his head?
I took a screenshot and can plainly see that the sword pierced Hawke's heart as well as about 4 inches of spinal cord, not to mention the damage done as the sword was pulled back out when Hawke was thrown back to the ground.
That's death.
It should be a finishing move like ripping an Ogre in half with phantom hands as a mage.
I would have loved to see them try to get away with showing that little move in the Destiny Trailer...

Obviously, the real super power of clipping. How did Aveline manage to stab Wesley with a tiny knife through his perfectly solid metal plate armor? Exactly.

True. Because if we want to play that, we will play that instead of DA2.Nathan Redgrave wrote...
You've clearly never played Devil May Cry.
By the way, I guess it falls under the Varric's tales cathegory, it's not that far-fetched. I mean, I got chewed on by a Dragon in both games, yet all the characters survived, what's a little impaling?

I lol'ed harder than I probably should've.CRISIS1717 wrote...
The trailer was false it showed Hawke going toe to toe with the Arishok, if they wanted a realistic trailer it should have shown Hawke running away from the Arishok waiting for his mana and stam to recharge.
But yeah. Gameplay and story segregation. I don't honestly believe that in the DA world, you can make people explode simply by stabbing them between the kidneys.

Hah, I love that part. Especially how Wesley and several others are given mercy killings by being stabbed in the stomach. As if that's a quick way to die. Gee thanks Aveline, but could you aim for a part of me that will end my pain more immediately and NOT amplify it by a ton?Nathan Redgrave wrote...

LMAO.... so true so true.... the Arishok Duel took me more than half hour to finish and most of that half hour I was running for my life.

I straight up fought him. /shrug
Edit: Not sure, but it seemed like his impale move did less damage than his normal attacking.
