Ok just a general question, how exactly do the preset origins outcomes affect your game? What quests do they allow/disallow? anything else important i should kno?
Origin outcomes?

Which characters are alive mostly. Not sure differences between the preset outcomes, but you will get quests that send you off to nathanial, zevran and alister. Plus there is a quest hunting down amarantine conspirators.
I played the "No Compromise" preset, and saw all the above (except alister was drunk in the bar instead of talking to me as king).

Its a tease.
It barely impacts your game and they likely only included it as a ploy to further get people to buy into the possibility that it might be "Dragon Age 2" instead of "Dragon Age: The Story of Hawke"

So, there might be more than one Harrowmont quest, the one I did had to do with me siding with Balen in Origins.
I have a couple of full play-throughs for DA:O/A. Two with very different choices, and have found that besides some side dialogue, there are a couple of quests sprinkled through the story that are a result of major choices you made. Just looking at the differences almost makes me want to go make a couple of more play-throughs.
