Teleporting mages can be easily explained the codex is out of date .if someone invented teleporting after it was made then clearly the codex is wrong.

Does the spell name actually come up as "Teleport" when the mage teleports? If so then he's clearly teleporting and breaking lore.
Also, why do enemy mages have access to spells that the MC can't cast? What's that about?
Also, what's the in game explanation for how a rogue is able to go invisible and a mage can't?

Abstraction, or the multiple cases of unreliable sources of knowledge we've had. Or even the fact that we have an unreliable narrator.
They don't technically teleport anyway, Acts somewhat like a rogue when they move very quickly around the world, which leads me to say abstraction. But as I said the codec's aren't always truth they're written by people in the world and come with the bias and inconsistences and can be outdated by new knowledge and studies,
