I am mostly through Act 3 now and have done the companion quests for Varric, Merril, and Anders, yet oddly enough only Anders costume changed and he is now wearing mostly black. Do any other characters get alternate costumes or is it only Anders?

I don't believe Varric's costume changes, but if he keeps the Primeval Lyrium shard, he gets a new-ish outfit (and Bianca gets four rune slots).

Merrill, Isabella, and Fenris get new outfits based on their romance status with Hawke. Merrill gets a completely new outfit, Isabella gets some of her outfit black-reskinned, and Fenris gets...a red ribbon around his arm.

What does it mean to romance Isabella?

I have slept with her twice, finished her mission in ACt 3 and let Castillion go free like the wanted, then talked to her at the hanged man where she said she was falling for me and invited me on her ship. I accepted her offer, we kissed, and there is no further dialogue yet her costume is the same.

Can someone post pictures of Isabella and Merrils new outfits, as well as any new outfits for anyone else like Varric, Sebastian, Aveline, etc.

There is a bug with Isabela that makes her outfit not change properly. You have to use a Maker's Sigh potion on her.

Actually, Fenris and Izzy only get Arm bands, which makes sense since they are optional characters. The non-optional characters like Anders and Merrill get a wardrobe change, but really, all it is is just a palette swap.

The only costumes that change are the companions that are romance options and you must romance them to change the costume, excluding Anders who changes if you finish his companion quest in Act 3 whether or not you romanced him.

And as Malevolence65 said, Isabela's outfit is bugged even after romancing her. You'll need to use a makers sigh on her.

I saw her outfit change right after I completed her act3 companion quest (most noticeably she gets a corset).

Anders, Fenris, Merrill and Izzy get alternate costumes if you romance them (you don't have to romance Anders if you do his companion quest "Justice" in Act III).

As a note, Fenris gets the Hawke crest on his belt as well as the favour (the red armband thingy). His change is still the lamest.

Indeed. The alternate armor makes her neck looks unrealistic and giraffe like - the lower part of the neck doesn't move at all, while the upper part does all the moving and twisting. I kept thinking that her neck is going to snap under the weight and her head is going to fall off.

I feel the same way, the scarf made her adorableness go off the chart.



All in all I wish she just kept her regular outfit for the romance as I think it looks better on her. (Or she just gets a different one.)

Her outfit alsways changes for me when she comes to my place at hightown and you sleep with her then by using the flirt speech options. She even keeps the outfit even if you aren't actively romancing her. I slept with her but decided to romance Merill and Izzy kept her new look.

Provided you do the Act 2 romance scene their outfit alters. So if you go Fenris - Isabela - Merrill and then complete Justice in Act 3 you can have all the costume changes.
