I figured out how to change the character's appearance with 'runscript appearance #', but on some creatures, like the Harvester, the animations don't work. Whenever I walk, the harvester goes on his side and is not animated.
I am wondering how to fix this. Has anyone thought of a work around for this? Is there a console command to fix this too?

I have a feeling it has something to do with the 'head'. I remember in DA 1 I could change the 'head' of the player in the save game editor and it would affect the character animations in-game so they would work right.
However, with no toolset for the sequel, I am not sure how to do this. Can I open my DA2 save with the DA1 toolset? If not, any other idea how I'd change the head?

I don't know how to fix your problem but I know that you can open your save with the gffeditor. You can find in a thread which's name is something like"modding is possible in dragon age 2"
Edit: here is the link to the gff editor ^^ social.bioware.com/project/1936/

So far I have figured out how to change Hawke's animation. I gave him the animation of the emissary so now he is floating around like a bad ass mage. haha, just need to figure out how to change the model associated with slot 15.

I did it! It took a hell of a lot of 2da editing but now I am a huge ass harvester going around bruising guys. Sweet!
The best part is I am the only one in the world who knows how to do it. hahaha

Hey, I wonder if we can change rogue's silly kong-fu into Arishok's aweeeesome dual wield animation?

You could then change the dagger models to longsword models and be a total badass.
