Seems as though Thrask died during the battle outside of the cave where the apostate mages were hidden. The quest is still active and expects me to talk to Thrask, but he is nowhere to be found. This seems to be unrecoverable from my end, so wondering what I should do. I will lose several hours of gameplay if I go to an old enough save to redo the cave portion of that quest. I do not consider that an option. I have searched the forums/google and have found no solution.

Agreed on the official response, my game is stuck there also. Put 30+ hours in, not starting again, that's it for me. Lesson to be heeded, never pre-order, even for bioware games. <Insert sad face here>
