We may be jumping the gun by expecting the Reapers to arrive.. the way Evil Chris has talked about it he has made it sound like "The Arrival" is an actual event of some kind, not just something show up and arriving.

Yeah people are assuming this is the Reaper invasion to kick off ME3 but that's not necessrily the case. It could just be setting the framework for a possible invasion.

Well if the reapers arrive in arrival it would not make sense if this was pre-suicide mission. Since the end shows they are still in dark space. Object Rho must be some mass relay thats the backdoor to the galaxy, and the reapers will use it now, since both the Citadel and the collectors have been neutralized.

Begs the question tough, if there was this Backdoor, why didn't Sovereign or the rest of the reapers just use it instead of going to the heavily fortified Citadel to try and open it manually.

Because the Citadel was the backdoor, and an effective one: with the Citadel being the hub for galactic civilization: if you take down the center of the brain, the rest of the body will easily die with it.
