Does anyone think that Dragon Age III will be in Orlais?
Here is my reasoning as to why:

1.
I think around Act 2 and 3 a lot of people like Alistair and other Npcs
mention Orlais and some of the troubles it's having, I can't remember
anything specific but I remember it sounding a bit strange/peculiar.

2. Sandal and Bodahn are planning to go to Orlais, they've popped up in Origins, Awakening, and DA II so it makes sense that Bioware would place them there (whether you like it or not.)

3.
Orlais is mentioned a lot in Dragon Age and is one of the more known
locations in Thedas, there isn't really any surprise in locating the
next game there, it's also one of the most powerful/richest places
according to the DA wiki.

So what do you guys think? Personally I'd find it weird to be in Orlais cause most people will have a different accent, which might be a reason why Dragon Age III won't be in Orlais...but who knows.

I noticed that too.

I was actually hoping the next game would be set in the Tevinter Imperium.

For a long time, people thought we'd be going to Orlais for DA2 (or hoped, I can never remember). But a lot of the evidence so far does seem to be pointing towards the kingdom of smelly cheeses and fashionable nobles.

Then again, it could just be subterfuge.

I'm hoping that it takes place in Orlais, since the Chantry is based there and the mages are revolting from the chantry it would make sense.

I hate the orlesian accent. I certainly hope it's not the case. But if so, give us another game with Hawke and I'll manage.

Actually I'd love to spend time in Orlais, I'm sure not every Chevalier is some kinda rape-happy douchey noble. Besides it appears to be the heart of the Chantry and without control of the Circles or the Templars its basically left with being a major education center that is already rife with trouble between the liberal educators and the church.

Ok typical accent I agree Polite, but your telling me you didnt melt when Leiania talked, its one of the main reasons i jumped for joy when I saw Corene Kempa In the credit list for DA II

Just saying

Even more reason I guess considering the ending of Dragon Age 2, I didn't even know the chantry was based in Orlais actually until right now.

Yeah it just seems weird having a whole game listening to that accent, it would get annoying after awhile.

It's just a french accent...

I personally want to see Antiva, there's a huge forest in the north that could hold some great Dalish mysteries.:pinched: Personally, I like the dynamic Bioware's set up with the Dragon Age series though, I don't really want to play as Hawke for an entire other game. DLC I can do for sure, an expansion would be great too. But I'm not too keen on another game entirely.

EDIT: Wait, I see that The Dales are in Orlais... I guess that would work too, but I'd still like to see Antiva.

I can see that coming since DA 2 hint a lot of things it'll be good setup If Dragon Age 3 going to take place in Orlais, politics matter, mage revolution and what Grey Warden Stroud mentioned about their mission it's sound like everything will happened in Orlais.

I don't have problem with frech accent though.

I'd love the Tevinter Imperium myself. Nothing like a massive group of powerful tyrannical mages. That spells epicness.

It does sound like a very important and interesting region in Thedas, but... Just as long as not everyone has the Orlesian accent. I mean Leliana's accent was sexy, but I think I would be driven crazy if I listened to French accents for 50-60 hours. Ya know?

The circles are breaking away from the Chantry everywhere it seems. The only real thing I got from the ending is a new hero will be in DA3 or maybe Hawke is found for the expansion that reconciles the magi and the chantry. I would think Orlais will play heavily in DA3 but really a war with Orlais over Fereleden seems most likely to be in Fereleden maybe with an act or some missions in Orlais. Even Leliana's song which if anything should have been in Orlais took place solely in Fereleden.

The warden missing and Hawke missing just seem to be indicating a new hero arising. The Warden went mising in epilogues of both DAO and Awakenings. Also again next story of reconciliation between chantry and magi or all out war will likely be influenced by choices made in DA2. The expansions might give some hints. Was the break off of the circles from the cantry want has been hinted to since Awakenings (Wynne if she lived in Origins tells of a fraternity that wants to break if you persuade her) and again in witch hunt and DA2 (Flemeth, Morrigan change is coming). Will fereleden become more like Tevinter and Mages practice in the streets like Fenyreil writes about?

Maybe back in Ferelden moving westward across the Dales into central Orlais as different acts fighting back the Orlesians? Or maybe the other way around re-conquering Ferelden?

OR! A semi-parallel story that destabilizes the peace between Orlais and Ferelden involving the Imperium? Then in the next game, defending the Imperium against the Qunari as Orlais bargains for support? Then in the next game, the final blight caused by not two, but 4 old Gods. Two archdemons (playing tug-of-war with Thedas) and a not wholly unexpected and not yet corrupted one and a somewhat unexpected and incorruptible one.

Razikale, Lusacan, Asha'bellanar and...

Sandal.

What's the big deal about the accents? I don't get it. It's just an accent of the people. Anywho I think we're going to Orlais - I mean if Sandal is there .... :)

Solution: Make Corinne Kempa voice everyone in Orlais :o

We've all had this discussion before.

I want to see both Orlais and the Tevinter Imperium, but I think I want to see Orlais first, just for the sake of curiosity. But honestly, I'd be happy with either one.

Bring down the mighty empire internally aye? Sounds cool.. I'd prever bringing down that other mighty empire to the north though (Tevinter) I mean it'd feel wrong if they gave the Orlesians English accents.. but if im walking around and everyone has a french accent it will start really badly getting on my nerves eventually
