So there is a new patch available, but it doesn't really seem to do much.

Patch Notes:
  • Fixed save game issues on single core machines
  • Fixed game asking for non-existent drives
  • Fixed release control issues where some players were unable to unlock correctly
  • Fixed a Steam-specific issue related to VO not playing after switching languages
I downloaded it, but I was thinking about not even installing it for fear it might break some mods. It doesn't look like it fixes any issues that I ever had.

I don't even know what this means: "Fixed release control issues where some players were unable to unlock correctly"

Anyone know if this breaks mods?

I believe it was an issue I've encountered a few times where switching characters would make that character unable to act through mouse clicks like talking to NPCs, looting moving or attacking. Happened to me while I was fighting the Rock Wraith and cost me the game.

1.01 is pretty old and it is only for those who are experiencing those specific problems. It is not meant for a general patch. Don't use it if your game do not have those issues.

1.01 does not break anything, it is safe.

Cool. Thanks for the responses.

I'll probably ignore 1.01 since I don't need any of the fixes, but its good to know it won't break mods just in case.

Just because Microsoft don't allow it, doesn't mean that it shall be banned. Think beyond your own gaming system. Don't think the cons of yours shall be fixed by eliminating the pros of PC. Some peoiple don't want to shell out 50-100$ a year to play online and have mods to make our SP games live longer.

It's rather selfish to wish something away because you can't have it, reminds me of my little brother -- when he was three-four. You're jsut as bad -- or even worse -- than PC elitists.

Sorry to sound harsh, but you're a troll.

Whoa dude I did 't mean for you to have a fashback or whatever that was. But yes it's not fair for us to not have mods. And I'm not trolling you are tho .

It was  a analogy, not a flashback. It was accurate too. You are being selfish and childish. Please read the subject of the thread and notice that it is you who is trolling. Have the guts to make your own thread on what you think is fair and not fair.

It makes you wonder why this troll is even in the modding forum, eh?

I guess now we know the truth. He/she is just a bitter console weenie jealous of all the PC mod goodness we get to enjoy.

Sad.

Banning mods would be like giving us all the rite of Tranquility, with a big "X" branded on our forehead.

Take it up with Microsoft\\Sony; they are the ones that control what goes on the console.

Eiliestl is an inbred, misanthrope troll. She probably does indeed want nobody to buy DA3.

Well i dont think games like DaO , obivion ,fallout and soon to be Da2 will last as long without Mods.

Except oblvion these games dont allow u to carry on so mods are needed to extend gameplay.

Simply buy a pc version quit yeh yapping and dl some mods btw there are ways to mod Xbox and ps3 but its at ur own risk!

The "release control issue" could be fixed (PC version) by clicking on the selected character's portrait, which would have been highlighted gray as if it had been clicked on but not released. Just a note.
