Stupid question, I know Queen Cousland is referenced but is King Cousland ever referenced? I'm playing right now and they bowed before Hawke and said long live King Alistair... when it's supposed to be Drunkenstair, which upsets me but a bit but not too much.

Just curious if there's any mention at all.

Edit: Before anybody asks, summary says Anora is Queen.

There was the mention of the Couslands in my DA2 playthrough. I think it was Act 2 but I'm not certain.

Isabella calls that Tome of Kolsun (or whatever) Cousland.

...that's all I've heard.

Leliana says "He is a good king" or something along those lines.

If you make yourself Kign with Anora, the person at the Feredlan refugee store still refers to the only Warden she knhows as the one on the throne. Meaning that references the Warden king.

Technically the refugees that confront you should say long live Queen Anora because marrying Anora only makes you her Prince Consort doesnt it? I am not to sure as I always make Alistair marry the ruthless b*tch.

Warden Cousland can only be Prince or Princess Consort at best. Anora and/or Alistair rule in their own right. While the Warden may be said to sit on the throne or even be "king" in terms of popularity, he doesn't actually become the head of state.

Alistair is made king because he's Marric's son.

Yes, King Cousland was referenced in my game. Bodahn talked about him, codex mentioned him and Leliana and Aveline mentioned him as well.

EDIT: just realized the thread is 5 days old and already answered. I need sleep.

I thought this was particularly amusing with one of my imports, where Alistair was on the throne (married to Anora); the Hero of Fereldan was Arl of Amaranthine and Warden-Commander of Fereldan; Loghain was still alive; and there were Warden survivors from the Mother's assault on Vigil's Keep.  (Hell, even Avernus was still alive, though I would be surprised if outsiders knew about him.)

Suppose it comes down to being a flippant response since she didn't want to divulge Anders's location.

You aren't allowed to sleep yet. Your postings entertain me.

In my imported playthrough, Anora should be Queen and Alistair meeting my Hawke at the pub for a few pints. ;)

Once, Queen Anora was mentioned properly. At one point, during a discussion (for the life of me I can't recall who I was speaking with), they said " You still serve your King" or something to that effect and I wanted my character to do a double take like I did in RL. :D I think it only happened once, but it was jarring, at the time.

That is the "relic" that the Qunari are searching for and has nothing to do with the Warden Cousland, though I did a double take when I first heard it :)

Alistair and Anora rule as king and queen in actual fact a la William and Mary. Either Cousland will be referred to as king or queen, but are actually consorts.
