I hope they don't force us to re-join the Alliance in Arrival.

If you read redemption you'll understand that Cerberus is in no shape to combat the reapers. If Shepard wants to be a loan wolf with no resources against the reapers he's gonna die fast. And ME3 is about rallying the races of the galaxy. Good luck doing that waving a Cerberus banner everywhere you go. Giving you the choice to stick with Cerberus makes no sense from a story or gameplay standpoint, sorry.

Shepard will mostly likely be Freelance.

Shepard called "Alliance marine" in ME3 and will meet Hacket in last bridge DLC. So I doubt it's "mostly likely".

Plus when Shepard died they pretty much scrapped the whole original Normandy project. They obvisouly aren't interested in having Shepard, Joker, or any of the old crew come back into the service.

Alliance won't refuse additional firepower aka SR2.

The Alliance is likely working on other projects or new Normandy vessels that they can have strictly under their control. Shepard's business with Cerberus has also earned them a bad reputation, since the Alliance is not real fond of Cerberus. Having your best soldier go rogue with to join up with a former Alliance black ops  group probably has a lot of higher ups none to pleased. Really the only reason Shepard has been outright captured and brought in for questioning is because Anderson and Hackett have been covering for Shepard. Only they really know how big of a deal the Reapers actually are.

And Shepard parts ways with Cerberus at the end of ME2. Paragon Shepard essentially tells T.I.M. to **** off and Renegade Shepard tells T.I.M. to stay out of their way. You will not be working for Cerberus again in ME3. You just won't.

Agree.

Now it may be possible that Shepard ends up working for the Council again as a Spectre in ME3, although Shepard hasn't exactly been on good terms with any of the Councils either. Although the Reaper invasion may get the Council to wise up and literally beg Shepard to help them out. Who knows? Being a true Spectre again would essentially let Shepard do whatever they need to do since being a Spectre essentially makes you above galactic law and the last thing Shepard needs is to be tracked and hunted down by C-Sec agents and other Spectres.

And here is a lot of space for assumptions. If there is fullscaled war with Reapers this Spectre status will mean nothing. War, chaos, end of the world, you know.

i don't see why you would be forced to go back to the Alliance. The Reaper invasion will affect the whole galaxy not just the Alliance. It will be interesting to see what develops though next Tuesday, will be exciting either way.

I don't like the Alliance. They've blocked you in every possible way ("ah yes, reapers," grounding the Normandy, etc) and have never been very helpful to Shepard. In response to Shep saving the council, they give Anderson/Udina a spot on the council, but nothing at all for Shepard. I say, **** 'em. They aren't worth the time and energy that Shepard gives them. Not that Cerberus is fantastic, but definitely a superior choice. Perhaps that decision is made at the end of Mass 2 with the collector base, idk

I support Shepard getting his own faction. Being forced to side with Cerberus or the Alliance is a crappy situation, even if there is a clear winner there. I think Shepard could unite the Terminus Systems with Aria's help, only if there isn't Alliance or Cerberus involved, since the people out there don't trust either.

People have forgotten that Shepard is a Spectre and is above the alliance. He answers only to the Citadel Council and if he wants to help the alliance he can if they ask him to, but he also decline the plea for help.

Heh, shep is not a spectre except in name. If you get "reinstated" in ME2, shep basically bluffs his way out of conflict using it. If he publicly used his "spectre power" the council would deny they ever did such a thing.

Not if you go with Udina on the council, then he isn't re-instated as a Spectre. If Captain Anderson is there he can refuse the title. I don't want to be a Spectre, I want to run my own show - tired of taking orders from people behind a screen/quantum entaglement.

Shepard is supposed to be a badass, the entire galaxy knows who he is and what he is capable of - he could rally everyone behind him and likely have a better chance of doing so without being assigned to either the Alliance or Cerberus (the other species distrust both of them).

Why is that I like ME 1 Cerberus more than ME 2 Cerberus? Is it the corny logo advertised on any and everything as if this covert group of operatives are trying to solicit their services? Or is it that their colors resemble a bumble bee? Either way, I liked Cerberus up until TIM said "Miranda, don't let Shepard destroy the base!" Then something awesome happened, and I got a lot of bullsh!t on that line. I hope Hackett reinstates Shep with a promotion. Captain Shepard doesn't sound so bad.

I personly HATE  Udina so much so hope you can get him killed in ME 3 or kill him yourself because he sells out to the reapers.

I still think shepard is Bad*** despite getting the Spectre back, but I diagree that he hides behind the title. He never one used it to force something unless he head to and in most cases it ended in a fire fight. Seeing as people believe him to be dead he as to bring it up from time to time in ME 2.

My hit list wish list in ME 3 so as follows:

1. Reapers seeing as their a threat to everyone.
2. Cerberus they can't pay enought for what they did in ME and ME 2.
3. Donnel Udina why because he an ***
4. The blue sons, Blood pack, Eclipse I just want them gone.

:?

Hey immoral/unethical experiments are technically stuff.  Though I question how many have actually gone wrong.  My count is 3; Rachni, Teltin, and Overlord.  The others we encounter are either questionably Cerberus (Chaska and Nodacrux[I think] in ME1) or go wrong because Shepard shows up (the rest).

The Normandy SR1 got freakin' disentigratedImage IPB and the last thing anyone saw was Shepard floating in the cold empty space.
What do you want the Alliance to do?.

Attempting to find the body would have been nice.  Not sitting back while my reputation was being slandered would also have been appreciated.  I don't expect the Alliance to move mountains for me or welcome me back with open arms (given the circumstances), but some small indication that at least one of them said, "Hey this guy/girl is kind of a hero; perhaps we shouldn't crap on his/her memory," isn't that much to ask.

Instead we hear that the Council at least has been running with the "Shepard was crazy" line for two years, uncontested, and the Alliance didn't even wait for your body to be cold (figuratively speaking) until they used you as a recruiting prop.  So I apologize if I seem ungrateful or inconsiderate but what I found out happened in my absence kind of pisses me off.  A little respect for the dead; do I really ask for too much.

Earth is burning. Striking from beyond known space, a race of

final mission to take back the Earth.

And as we all know, Hacket is involved in Arrival. It seems like they might be setting Shepard up to re-join the Alliance which would be pretty lame if it was madatory. It would be a cool option for those who want it but they better give us an option to stick with Ceberus or work by ourselves as well.

I'd say it'd be slightly less lame than forcing us to work an organization that put thresher maw poison in our squadmates veins.

Yeah, being KIA would tend to do that to you.

Or, as Shep said, "I was only mostly dead."

Hey, I've seen/heard a lot of buzz about a new DLC.
I was just wondering whether anyone knows whether that's true that there is going to be another one for sure.

The Alliance lost a few good men fighting at the Battle of the Citadel. They don't really have the man power to deal with the Collectors. Cut them some slack. And since when did being dead make you not a part of the military anymore?

They couldn't spare 40 people?

The alliance doesn't have the time to make an advanced ship, gat the best of the best and find another Shepard.

Of course they don't have time! They're too busy getting ready to be squashed by the Reapers! Oh wait, but the Reapers are just myths aren't they? Just a mind game Saren used. Never mind, they have plenty of time.

Cerberus all the way. Yeah we might not agree with all the things they've done over the years, but they get stuff done!

Plus, they have Garrus now, and Garrus is the ****.

The only thing Cerberus gets done is somehow finding more ways to ingeniously kill themselves.

And somehow being a bigger threat to it's own species survival than any other species ever could be.

Certainly not going to work with an organization that supports human dominance. No one species should have supremacy. Especially one that has been part of the galactic community for only three decades.

I'm a sucker for the Alliance anyhow. The idea of a the wealthiest nations on Earth banding together into a super national organization to finance colonization is something I adore.

Hell yeah I'm going back to the Alliance.

Also really looking forward to seeing/working for the Council. I've always had a fondness for the Council.

While I  too eagerly await working with Adm. Hackett again I  don't share your fondness for the Council.  While I don't see them as the enemy but their foot dragging has made Sheps job harder than it needs to be.  You don't make someone a Spectre and then doubt and second guess everything they come to you with.

Shepard never brought any evidence before them that I felt was beyond a doubt proof that the Reapers are real.

You can't expect a goverment that is responsible for the lives of trillions of individuals to act on a whim like that. You need solid proof and I never saw any.

People claim that Sove. should have been enough but after he blew up there really was no way to prove anything about what he was.

No I'm quite sure one look at Sovereign would show his technology is far more advanced then anything else.  Even the small pieces of it.  Funny thing is Anderson says looters or other people got to it first so there wasn't much left.  Even though the one piece that came at the team after beating Saren landed in an area that is off limits to everybody but the Council and special people meaning that the Council representives should have had first hand look at the pieces.

It's just the council races playing stupid, they did so the first second you meet them.  Turning away the eye witness evidence of Saren and the other Turian, when they worked knew Saren by name.  Or did they think Shepard made that part up.

I can't wait to air out Andersons brain in ME3 for what he did in Retribution anyways.

If I do have to work with the Alliance in ME3 then I better be the one giving them orders and not the other way around.
